Otherwise people could mess around with their settings so that their vehicle shows less accumulated miles than actual.

@Mike330R do you find the suspension a little noisy off-road? Any rattling or loose sounds coming from front end when wheeling it fairly hard?

I didn't at 1st but after someone else mentioned it I did hear some 'creaking' mostly in the front end.
I will turn down the music and pay better attention next time.

I didn't hear anything while I was doing 80 through those desert whoops. Cab was completely silent. Amazing technology

I don't mind creaking/squeaking noises when off-roading. It's the rattling/loose sounds that drive me nuts. Could very well be one of the many splash guards on the front end rattling, but on brand new truck it shouldn't be there, IMO.

Good news, since having the larger 265/75/16 BFG KO2's installed, the "calibrate new tires" feature in the headunit seems to have corrected my speedometer. While there is still some slight margin for error, I tested the Tacoma digital speedometer and analog/dial speedometer against my handheld Garmin 60CSX GPS. With the Tacoma cruise control set at 59 MPH, all 3 speedometers indicated roughly 59 MPH (Garmin was 59.4, two Tacoma speedo's were 59 MPH).

Gas mileage also seems pretty good considering the hilly terrain and many short trips I've taken.

Sorry for the burry pic's, I was multitasking in the dark.

    Edit to add:
It is possible that my speedometer may have been off with the OEM tires and going up a tire size corrected it. I never checked the speedometer against a GPS until after I have the BFG KO2's installed. The good news is that the speedometer seems accurate now with the KO2's installed.

I'd say this is likely that case. That's exactly how most of the 2nd gens worked. Speedo registered slightly higher than actual speed. Go up a tire size and it's almost dead on.

More than likely injector noise. Direct injected engines are noisier than normal and it sounds like valves sometimes

Do a search. Cleaning cycle. Its normal. Or, you could start a thread stating your truck has all kinds of problems only to realize later it doesn't,

Safest place for your dog is in a well secured kennel.

What about the odometer. Neither the speedo or odo is correct after I used the "calibrate" feature. It's still 4% off.

Larry thats a nice kennel. I am still trying to figure out what I'm going to do about my 2 dog situation. Right now in my 6ft bed I have a hard time fitting the two crates I have...need to get to something more compact and space efficient for a DCSB.

You need some sliders man! Before I touch any hardcore off road ping I would want it armored from from to rear.

Super comprehensive! Thanks! Just test drove the TRD Sport 4x4 today (no off roads in stock, apparently they are flying off the shelves). Waiting for mine to come in. Same trim but dark grey. Can't wait.
