I looked around in SC and NC, and can tell you, look at the MSRP(that is total with shipping), then take 10% off that as a minimum discount and go from there. They are even advertised on line with around that for a discount at some stores, and even more. I have not tried to trade yet, but I got my 2014 with a similar discount. Some dealers I talked to tried the old MSRP, no discount BS, but they start backing off when they know you know they are being discounted.

    Hey all.

Lots of good information here, and particularly in this thread. I'm new to the Tacoma game, but not for long; I just put my order in tonight!

    TRD OR DCSB
    Towing Package
    Premium & Technology Package
    Mudguards
    All-weather Floor Mat package

    MSRP (with $900 delivery): $37,929
    My final price: $36,000

Any costs beyond that are TTL; no other dealer TDAs, etc.

I feel pretty good about the price considering how fast they're flying off the lots here in MN!

Just purchased a limited. MSRP minus $500 plus TTL. They threw in the remote start. Really thought I would do better.

Had today off & my "friend" who works at the dealer finally had some trucks. Went in to see numbers to get an idea. No way would I buy now in my area. No volume, dealers are fighting over product here. Totally a sellers market which means I not buying!
    Breakdown -
TRD OR SB 4wd auto w/ premium technology package, Tonneau (do not want) , tow pkg & destination charge.
    MSRP 39,603 - 604 discount = $38,999.
Offered 21500 for my 2013 TRD OR SB 4x4 (hahaha)
    Total before TTL $17499.
Add onto that $249 doc fee, $113 Advertising, $1065 tax.
    So 20k to upgrade? Crazy!
I bought my current truck for $29,600 in January 2014.
Trucks are flying off their lot though just too rich for my blood.

    Cool.
Since owning a Toyota truck since 1987, I have only gone out of state once. I like dealing local. Will wait till there is more inventory & less demand.

My decision was also based on price but yes, would prefer to stay local but just wasn't in the cards on this purchase. Didn't want to pay more and wait longer.

Just realized I never shared my offer. Ended up with an offer on trade of $25,500 for my '12 Sport DC SB M/T with 30k miles. At that price for my trade, i'd have to sell it for 27,600 privately to have equal value with the tax break on trade. Listed it for 2 weeks locally with no offers at that price, will do the trade.

New truck offer: $35,700 (all bs fees included) plus ttl.
    OR DC SB Auto
    Premium/Tech, no JBL
    Towing

I think I did ok. That's ~200 over invoice according to Truecar and KBB, but about 900 over invoice in the list in the thread here.

    What truck and options?

I talked with several dealers and found one willing to deal then took that offer to my local dealer. Have a history with the dealer as well.

Damn. My offer was $37k, which was supposedly $500 over invoice plus $500 special order fee.

Just ordered my 2016 TRD Sport 4x4.

    -options: V6 Tow Package

    MSRP: $35,280
    Invoice: $33,644
    I paid: $33,875 OTD

I feel like I could have gotten another $75 off but I didn't want to press my luck. I think I did pretty well
