Hey guys, the time for me to order my lift is getting closer and closer and I need some help. My first question is on the all pro bumper. From what I understand it adds 60lbs to the front of the truck. How does this effect the handling of the vehicle? Cornering, acceleration, braking... I like to drive quick (not unsafely fast, just quick), and I don't want that to be taken away from me. I understand that with a 3'' lift and 285's I'll be alot less quick, which is why new gears and a trd super charger are in my plans. I'm also having a hard time because I've never seen one in person and it seems, everything looks different in person that it does on here. In some pictures this bumper looks BA, in otheres it looks a little wierd. Because I plan on getting an OME lift, I have to plan my spring choice accordingly, making this an even more difficult decision. Any input would be greatly appreaciated:D

If you're getting the OME lift, you're going to need the 886 coils to handle the extra weight on the front.

And the bumpers look different because of the different things that people do to them. I think the All Pro bumper looks badass with the prerunner bar and lights, but I hate the look of the All Pro bumper thats just plain with nothing added to it.

Don't lift, put bigger tires, or put the all pro bumper on if you want to go quick.

Fixing the gearing and putting a blower on it to keep the speed up is not the right answer.

You do want the 886 springs for the bumper. And you will feel some difference in the handling- but your opinions/feeling will need to be developed by doing what you want and driving it.

I wish I had a SC for acceleration, but I'm running 3" lift, 35's and covered in armor so I can't complain much. My top speed has been 114 with this setup. Regearing and an SC would be SWEET but My truck performs just dandy with my current setup.

Maybe I should clairify what I mean by "quick". I just tend to be a little faster than most people. Nothing extreme, I dont race, never have. I just tend to accelerate slightly faster than other people driving like women. I completly understand that lifting my truck and putting 285's on it will effect it, but I have to do it. I eat, sleep, and breathe lifting my truck. I wont be happy until it's done. By adding the SC and regearing, I was hoping to offset some of the power loss that comes with the lift, however I have not put much research time into that area YET. Right now I'm still on the suspension, which involves this bumper because as it's already been said, I'd have to choose between 886 or 885 accordingly.

If I had the money, I would SC and regear. My truck is fine for a daily driver and I have fun wheeling it also. But if you have money, why not? I have a wife and 7 year old daughter with a possible bun in the oven , so I can't (even though my wife ENCOURAGES me to do whatever i want to my truck, even an SC, I have to be responsible...)

who said you'll lose power with a 3" lift and aftermarket springs

now when adding full armor, 35's ,winch and everything else then yeah...but just a 3" lift  and a 60 lb bumper wont make a differnce either..maybe adding a 90 lb winch into the mix

I think that's the weight difference between the stock bumper and the Allpro one.

^ I hear you man, that's why I'm single ;) I'm just iffy about the bumper because from some angles..... But if I could see one in person I could solve the look issue. And then there's the thing about extra wieght in the front. How much of a difference will you feel with one of them and a winch on compared to a regular bumper?

From what I understood people's trucks seem to be more... sluggish after a lift. I just dont want to be sluggish.

I haven't looked into winches, still on the bumper ( I try and do things systematically) so I haven't made a decision on one yet. I don't have much use for one, but why have the bumper if you're not gonna get the winch?

i think it's the best looking aftermarket bumper out there..but thats not what sold me on choosing the All Pro bumper...

it's not overbuilt and it's not underbuilt either..the modular 4 piece design thats incorperated into the design is smart money...one of my wheeling buddies has an ARB one piece bumper, 140lb overbuilt one piece design..he bent that sucker on a recent trip, has to replace the whole bumper. plus, the way the winch mounts in the ARB sucks ass..really hard to operate the winch as far as moving the stupid clutch release lever

All Pro's bumper is one sexy piece of trail armor!...

EDIT: one thing i forgot to mention...All Pro's customer service is second to none..you will not find anyone esle out in the market that will heve better customer service

Did you notice any changes in handling after you installed it? When I do something I like to do it right the first time, and I defenatley dont want to get this thing and regret it afterwards, or vise versa.

I havent noticed any handling changes from the bumper itself. The fact that I got rid of the sway bar and the larger tires dont help with the handling.

when i first installed the bumper i did it right with a wench and synthetic winch rope..also was on bilstien 5100's in the front and on stock springs..front sagged about a half inch..but that was to be expected, my truck is out somewhere just about everyweekend so those springs were a little stressed haha. only thing i noticed was front end dive when braking really hard. so i would do as suggest above and get the EMU springs at the very least...an actual coil over setup such as Fox, Walker Evans, or Icon would be more ideal as it would give better overall handling and performance attributes
