I just want to get a 4 inch lift kit for my daily driver. I don't need anything serious, just something that will function well on the road and is simply for looks. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money on a kit that I'm not using off road. Any suggestions?

    Spindles.

I dunno what "ton of money" means but you're looking at a several thousand dollar investment if you plan on running appropriately proportioned tires and a 4" lift.

I'm thinking around $1,000 just for the lift kit

You're looking at around $500 for spindles. That only leaves you $500 for the rear end. For the rear you will need either a new leaf pack, add a leaf, or (least desirable) blocks/spacers. Then you'll need shocks for that taller leaf pack.

You still need tires too or its gonna look kinda goofy with stock tires and that much lift.

I don't think that's a likely price with any parts that are worthwhile for a daily driven truck.

Spindles alone are half that cost and are one piece of a puzzle. Spacer lifts can be done cheaply but you'll grow quickly tired of them. You'd need UCAs without a spindle lift and the cheapest option is about $400.

If you don't use spindles, you'll need UCAs with a lift taller than 2.5 inches.

That's $400. Leaving you $600 for the remaining items which, like I said, isn't really feasible for $1k.

Hey, it's just money. You can't take it with you. What the hell are you working for anyway? Just go ahead and load up that credit card. You're not gonna be happy till you do. Don't know if they salt the roads where you live, if they do be sure to check your frame for rust before you spend your money. Oh, and don't forget to post up some pics.

Yeah.. or get a smaller lift to match your lower budget and keep the expectations reasonable on a two wheel drive daily driver.

Go ahead and get wheels and tires when you do your lift. It won't look like you want it to look without new wheels and tires.

Spindles. You have options for the rear depending on $. You can get the maxtracs for $500. Like mentioned above.

Well, well, well. I see you're doing your usual dead level best to stir the pot this fine evening aren't you. As if you have never been, "over served" at some time in your scandalous life.

Adult beverages tend to make some folks easy targets. Experienced drunks know when it's time to let someone else provide the comedy. That being said, I'm glad I could provide the levity in the thread. If history is any teacher, it most definitely won't be the last time either. Coming soon to a thread near you!

I'll certainly tag you, DCSBFTMFW. It would be very meaningful to me if you could just get your avatar to drop her left foot onto the floor. It would open up so many marvelous possibilities.
