Now you can really say goodbye to any chance of a warranty!

 

At 170K on the clock I'm so far away from a warranty it may as well be on another planet.

 

I want to see the look on the tech's face who does my next oil change at the stealership.

 

Lol you do all that work yourself and then take it to the dealer for an oil change?

 

Yes. I'm always busy nights & weekends so I'll just take the truck to work for a day and go get the oil changed by someone else while I work on my laptop in the slick waiting room. Kills two birds with one stone so-to-speak.
And I don't have to get rid of oil.

I'd rather pay someone to do the really messy stuff.

 

Another small but necessary part of the puzzle:

I was able to find a nice quality triple stick boot online a short while ago - I posted a pic of it earlier. The boot was from a Ford Bronco fab company I stumbled upon on the search.
the boot itself is perfect for my needs but the mounting plate it came with is completely the wrong size.
Fortunately I have an old piece of 1/8" steel sheet hiding in a corner of the garage.
Sanded it down to clear the rust and then transferred the measurements from the triple stick hole in the tunnel to the sheet.



Drilled out some holes to mount it and cleared all the burrs:


Fits just fine:


kinda sucks you'll never see it once it's all together.

That is the same boot that I got from Dave'z.

 

They make stuff too but I'd rather not give them any more monies. Never bothered to ship me the shift knobs but had no problem charging me for them.

I always wonder what goes through their minds when they get in a fully modded taco. must be some interesting words said.

not that I let the stealership touch my truck. I take mine to a dedicated oil change shop, they top off the washer fluid, clean the air filter and give everything on the truck a glance over as well.

 

I know where you're coming from. In this case I know all the service guys & a good friend works for them.
They can handle the oil change.
