lol. i assume just from my headlights, since i'm pretty sure they can't tell what i'm driving head-on from that distance.

and in case I misunderstood your point, my headlights are stock.

Yea thats what I mean, so they are flashing you because of your stock 2016 headlights? Time to get some HIDs or LEDs in the highs and blind them when they do :boink:

    Anthony,
Last night was the first time out. I have the Sylvania Ultra Halogen's in the low, Xenon Depot LED in the fogs and the VLED's in the high. There is plenty of light when on low. I switched the high beams on and lit up a huge area. Typical LED with a large spread of light without concentration. I liked it but would still like to get them on a deserted road at speed so the Jury is still out on whether these are keepers.

    NoDak,
Theres actually another thread where the member used Xenon Depot's in the projector and has pics showing the Sylvania Ultra Halogens have a better pattern and reach farther. He essentially said they suck at speed and he went back to Halogens in the projectors.

thanks for that info. looking thru the 4runner forums came back in a nutshell, stay away from LED for the main light source for now until they improve them to the level of a HID complete replacement kit. refit kits from what I can tell have an issue with the grommets not sealing or losing the seals.

I spoke to someone at VLEDS today about using the LMZ's as Highbeams and they said to adjust the bulbs so the LED's are left to right, or, side to side, not top to bottom. He also said to adjust them so the bulb is all the way out and then tucked in a bit, you do have to play with them a bit.

That is what he did in his Tundra anyways, and he says they light up a good football field distance in front of him.

I ordered HIDs for the projectors and LMZ's for the Fogs and High Beams today from VLEDS today.

I think I am just gonna throw some HIDs in my projectors and maybe my fogs. Not 100% sold that I want to spend $150 for fog lights lol. I want something bright in my highs, but HIDs are not ideal as passing lights . The LEDs would be good if they threw light far enough

I returned my LED bulbs for the headlights and picked DDM Ultra HIDs instead http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/UltraCanbusMoto

If you look in my previous posts for the LED bulbs I purchased. I put them in my GFs camry and while she likes them and doesn't see a difference in the lighting, driving her car for a while I can really notice the loss of light projected outward. It covers more light to the sides but directly in front, not so much.

I keep hearing that the LEDs throw more light to the sides but not in front. Thinking about getting these while they are on sale http://www.vleds.com/vx3-h11-h16-2800lm-led-headlight-fog-light-1-pair.html. Im not sure I need HIDs in the fogs and these are about half the cost of the HIDs. I might not get the throw the halogens have but they are rated at 2800Lm which is 4x the brightness of the CREE OPT7 LED bulbs. Any thoughts? Ill probably leave my fogs on a lot so the life span of LED is a huge plus as well. The stock fogs dont seem to throw far either since they are wide angle, but they scatter well

I sometimes use the light from the fogs, especially on darker roads if I cant run my high beams. The added light at the front of the vehicle and the wide beam off to the sides is helpful in the back woods country roads. Just thinking that $70 shipped for lights that are 4x brighter might be a better investment in this case. I just need to know if there is enough clearance behind the fogs for the heatsink

Truthfully you are probably less likely to get hassled having HIDs in a projector housing. Unless they really know their stuff, whats inside that housing should be unknown to most LEOs. It looks like any other projector out there, which typically has HIDs in it from the factory. If they are aimed correctly, you wont be blinding people

HIDs in non projector housings will get you rolled for a traffic violation. Also if you are running 55w in non projector or even projector housings will get you rolled for the lights being too bright.

Projector housings, please stick with 35w

And the 35W HID's are twice as bright as the Stock Projector Halogens, which IMO, are crap...

Anthony, there is plenty of room behind the fogs for those and they have appeal! Looks like a winner.

So these are the vvme I literally just installed today. 55watt 5000k. From far away driving towards you it's white with a blue tint. As you get closer. It's all white. Looks great and illuminates the road by a large margin. Like it should be illegal to run halogens.

Sorry I don't have before pics. Didn't think about it till after the install.

I've got morimoto H11B 5500k HID bulbs coming, the VLEDS vx3 LEDs coming for my fogs (2800lm figured I didn't need to spend the extra on LMZ) and LED bulbs for my interior lights and reverse lights. Can't wait til the goodies arrive
