    Priscacara Serrata fossil. Harvested from the Green River Eocene formation from the famous 18" layer in Wyoming.

    This 160 million year old piece, was the ancestor of the Piranha...a highly aggressive fresh-water carnivore. It is 8" long (large for this fish) and in perfect condition with a very high level of detail including dorsal fins, mouth, and eyes.

    Yep. Joined the Air Force in '89 and only went back to visit. Everything around there has changed, and most isn't an improvement. Sad.

    Air Force Museum has grown and improved though. I still visit every few years to see my grandfather's C-124 Globemaster.

    Yup, I get out there every few years. In fact, that is where we bought the helicopter to swap the turbine into our boat.

    Camera is a Canon 550D, lens is a Rokinon 14mm f/2.8.

    I put the camera on a tripod and point it towards the source, and have a remote shutter control, set to take 30 second exposures and just let it run for a couple hours at the peak time. Sometimes, I even go back inside while its running.

    I take all my pix in RAW, then develop/crop them in Lightroom.
