xd monster 18 inch rims

i have a 08 tacoma trd sport prerunner, i was about to buy these xd monster rims, i can get them in offset of either -12 or +18?? which one should i get, and also what is the biggest size tire i can fit on those rims with no lift?? thanks for your help here is the link

I can't answer your question, but it's a great looking wheel. I just ordered a 3" lift a few minutes ago from Cornfed, and now I'm beginning the search for some wheels.

 

A -12 offset on a 9" wheel is a 4.5" backspace. A +18 offset on a 9" wheel is a little less than a 5.75" backspace. The 16" OR rims for the tacos are about a 5.5" backspace. The +18 offset is what you what to get if you want to match the stock OR's. The -12 offset will push the rim further out. It depends on what "stance" you are looking for.

 

sweet I think I would rather have them stick out a bit so I might go with the -12. I read where some guy fit some 265/75/17 or 16's on his Tacoma. So does anyone know what I could fit? Its got 265/65/17 on it now

 

The biggest tire you can go without a lift on 16" rims is 265/75. On a 17" ri the biggest is 265/70.

 

What about 18x9's?

 

It depends. A 265 tire will fit most 8"-10" rims. I'm running 265/60's on my 18"s. I can go up to a 265/65 which is almost the same circ. as a 265/75 r16. You can also run a 275/60 which is roughly close to running a 32" tire. I've seen some people run 275/65 on 18" rims with few to no issues, the only issue it seems is tire rub at full lock and/or going over a speed bump.

Thanks for the thread guys! I needed the info as well. Joe thanks for the intel. Im putting on some Moto Metal 18x9's with 285/60's. There are a few people who have used that set up and it works great. I've gone to some local shops and talked to guys on here and from what I can tell, we shouldn't be scared of doing some minor trimming up front. You'll never know it was done unless you look for it.

 

i don't think you can run an 18" rim with a 5.75 bs.

 

hey Joe you look like you know ur stuff, Im in the same problems as kregstrong, They tell me I can go with the xd monsters with 18 offset and 5.7 backspace, with Nitto tires 285/60R18 you think I'll be fine.

 

Now this guy from wheels and tires.com tells me that wheel won't fit my Taco, WTF!! I know they fit, I just got to get the right dimentions.
