In my opinion both sites will have their issues with quality equally. Mexicans are hard workers as well as US maybe a tad better (less spoiled). I am happy my truck was built there. I would think the QC is the same in both factories. I doubt Toyota would allow a difference in overall QC simply because it's Mexico. I have to think Toyota employee QC reps are at both sites,

But sweeping generalizations cannot be made with one example.

Oh gawd, don't be telling me this, I just ordered my Taco and I'm waiting from the sales rep to find out where its being built. My educated guess though is Mexico

Manufacturing tolerances, materials, and quality control are the same. Your experience is purely coincidental. I wouldn't put anymore thought into it.

Mine is from Baja. Only issue im having is with these shit tires on the OR. Bad vibration at 75. One wheel has 6oz of weight when the others half less than an oz. The dealer (not my dealer) is refusing to replace it saying the machine says its balanced and it's not defective. Just drove it and can still feel it.

If you ordered a Double cab with a V6 it will most likely be Mexican made.

Why don't you just buy one tire and fix the issue..If the dealer won't do it, you probably should just bite the bullet and make it right, while all the tires are new. I haven't had my truck up to 75 yet.....Better try it out to make sure I don't need a tire

Toyota did not garner their reputation from American factories in particular.

Why should I have to buy a tire for a truck that is less than a week old when they are the ones that put a defective one on there?

You shouldn't HAVE to but that is your only option to make it right. Dealer said they were within spec. If it were me (and it may very well be as I have not had the truck up over 55) I would just fix myself. Rather than deal with the vibration.

Have you tried running your spare in place of the " defective " tire and see if your vibe goes away ?

I'm not going to deal with the vibration, but I'm not going to tuck my tail between my legs and accept that excuse either. I'm going to stay here until they make it right one way or another.

Contact the tire mfg. Warranty should take care of the issue. Have Discount or another tire retailer balance the tire. If it's out of specs, you ought to get replacement minus prorated wear for the value of the tire.
