I haven't experienced any axle hop and I do a lot of difficult trails/rock crawling stuff. Even when locked, front and rear, and pedal to the medal to get up some very steep, shale covered hills I haven't experienced any issues with the driveline.

But I have two extra leafs in my defined leaf pack. The rear mounted winch and plate bumper balance out the stiffer leaf springs, but I'm probably still benefiting on the axle wrap / axle hop front from the stiffer pack.

If anyone needs tires you have 30 minutes to get on ebay discount tires page, its a $100 off every $400 spent and they sell tires by the pair. So you can get $200 off a set if you do two separate orders... just a last minute heads up. Just order some 295/75/16 nitto terras for $300/pair

    This is so true.

TC, Camburg, Solo, DTF, you name the company uses different coil-over configurations for their LT kits. Especially different lower rod ends for 2wd/4wd kits to clear the CV axle. Buying a set of coil-overs from RDC or DR for a "good deal" can often turn into the cost of a new set of shocks once you have them altered for your application. Depends on the deal of course.

A little video recap from Blue Water that Khris put together. The question of LT kits comes up here from time to time from people asking questions and I know there are a few guys who make kits who post here frequently. I just want to add that I was one of those kind of guys a few years ago and I am really happy that Matt at MCM Fab pointed me in the direction he did. There are a lot of great companies out there that make quality products so no knock on them but we've beaten on Matt's kit about as hard as you can and it's been absolutely flawless. We're able to push the truck hard through some nasty stuff and make up for the lack of HP our little stock 3.4 is putting out by slamming the truck through the rough.

Matt does awesome work and Khris and I both really appreciate all the help he's provided us over the years. If you're in the market for a kit, do yourself a favor and give Matt a call.

Everything still looks 100% at this point. The steering has about 25 miles of hard testing and then the steering/trans have 143ish race miles of basically what you see in that video above on it. I'm planning on taking it out again this Sunday for some medium abuse putting another 30-40 miles on it.

Time will tell obviously but so far so good with no complaints.

BTW, we're just running a cheap junkyard "tow package" accessory trans cooler off like a fullsize Chevy truck. Not a big badass aluminum cooler with fans and stuff. It was in the 100 degree range and there was many times where I was banging the engine off the limiter yet doing 10mph in 1st just looking for traction in the soft. It wasn't all what you see in that video!!! LOL Engine never went over 220 with the stock radiator and the Trans creeped up to the 240 range a couple times. Before we race in Parker again I'll likely add a 2nd cooler or if Jason wants maybe step up to a big boy cooler but I'll leave that choice up to him. The times the trans temp creeped up there I was able to lay off it a bit and get it back down to the 210-220 point but had I really had someone on my butt and had to push hard 100% of the day it may have got interesting on the trans temp...

I think the question about the trans was more about the shifting.

the standard OEM extended/standard travel shocks are not the same.. manufactures make a specific shock built to the specs these kits require.
shoot me a PM and I can get you a quote on the shocks you will need.

    its n
it is not a specific generic length coil over.. there is a special over cap that is used, a internal shaft spacer, rod end, lower plates ect.. do it correct and purchase the shocks built for these kits.

Damnit, im getting a strange vibration that feels like a ujoint on its way out but my front right wheel/tire sounds like some scraping and weird noise coming from it at certain speeds, making me suspect the hub/wheel bearing. Is the right way to check for this to just jack up the front end and check for excess play?

Also does anyone know if you have to be a member at triple A to use their titling service? I really just need to know how much back fees will cost on a truck im looking at

Yeah with the trucks we drive triple A is always nice haha, I might be picking up a project truck so I think itll be worth it to have triple A for the titling and to tow it home.

I tried doing that but all I could find was a fee estimator, I'll look again.

Edit: You were right! Thanks for saving me the headache!
