So true, the focus just changes over time. I look forward to the tweak and tune phase, then it's time to start getting into more custom projects.

Yeah man, soo peeved. The situation sucked as is... now this, meh. Terrible feeling getting jacked, I bet they dumped them somewhere too. Little do they know that was $300 of wiring.

High five, I mean... high thirty five? haha, no kidding about that party, it's getting crazy up in here. Now to get gearing figured out and lots more cutting.

I'll get over the theft, it's just a shame and unsettling reminder that crooked folks are among us.

Haha high dirty five buddy!! What route you going for gearing? I'll probably need to do some more cutting and bashing too haha.

The theft is very lame. Can't stand the sense of entitlement and lack of respect a lot of people have these days!!

    People...

Gear wise I'm leaning towards 4.56's. Going ARB F+R would have been ideal, but I just learned that's not an option unless I swap the whole axle. The eLocker stays until it dies a noble death and a lone ARB will be holding down the clamshell fortress.
Then to save for a big RST order: 4.70:1 crawlbox + FJ twin stick, mostly because... I like turtles.:turtleride:

You don't have to swap the whole axle do you for an ARB rear? Didn't know that..

I can easily be wrong but that's what I've gathered from digging through some threads. I still have much to learn on the subject.

Nice bro!!! Awesome. I too like turtles, but don't know if I'll ever have the type of money to spend on my truck.

And I think it's the carrier that has to be switched out in the rear diff to accommodate the ARB

Did more homework and it would have been smooth sailing if I didn't have the 8" elocker rear.
To go ARB I'd need the 8.4" so I'm stuck with it unless I swap the whole rear.

Now is where I question putting $ into my current setup or hold off until I secure a 8.4 avoiding the need to do diff work twice.
Part of me says do it right the first time, the other part of me says screw it, save the $, and pretend to love the wonky donkey elocker.

Damn that sucks, odd enough I had better luck living in Oakland CA for 6 years. This is the second time something shady has happened living in Issaquah in my year being here. Makes me want to beef up the trucks security.

I dont think they have the "assembled 3rds" for 8" is all. Though i could be incredibly wrong! Id just call ECGS and they can set you straight!

This is what im basing it off
    http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-135581-toyota-8-arb-air-locker-rd132-all.html

Any particular reason you want to switch from the e-locker to the ARB? Just to match the front? I didnt do all that much looking when i was considering front locker and rear to match and it seemed like most people said it wasnt overly worth the cost unless you went to the 8.4" housing since thats stronger. Performance wise people seemed to agree that they were close to the same with just some minor differences.

I'm at work or I would look for it. But I've heard of the elocker' exploding, but if you think about it any locked rear with enough pressure will destroy your diff so not sure

Thanks for the link Nick, yeah I was thrown off by their assembled 3rd offerings. A call to ECGS is in order, I've pretty much gone in circles on the matter. Lots of mixed info out there and most of it seems to contradict itself.

Personally I've fought with my eLocker every time I've used it. It's sticky, doesn't always engage and is usually a bit of a pain getting it to disengage. That said, I've never put myself in a spot that using it was critical to get me out of a situation, but when the time comes I'd sure like to trust that it'll do it's job. I won't always be in a spot where I can drive forward and reverse a few passes for it to lock. Also, I'm guilty of wanting things to match. I was spoiled with my old YJ's dual arb setup. The eLocker (at least mine) is finicky in comparison. Maybe it just needs to be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned? I've never ridden in another tacoma with an elocker to compare so I'm left skeptical.
