Trailer brake install ??????

    I have the utility package , basic truck . I know others have the towing package with a pig tail already installed , I am assuming that is not the case on my part.
    Is it possible to install a unit with causing a problem ?

    Also, if you are towing something heavy enough to require trailer brakes, you should be concerned about a few other things, like the rest of the harness, and possibly tranny or oil cooler. Do you have a manual or AT?

    Chances are if your towing something that has its own breaking system, it may be exceeding the towing capacity of the truck.

    It's a small travel trailer that is within towing specs

    Blatantly false. Lots of states require trailers above 2000lbs to have brakes

    What's the weight, and also check your state's specific laws. In CA, it's 1500 lbs+ requires trailer brakes.
