Yup, I'm getting this as well. I need a cover and for what I do this is ideal, can't let my hockey gear get wet on the way to the rink!

I have a buddy who supplies truck parts and he's getting me one at cost for about $850. I'm good with that!!

Agree with the Extang solid fold 2.0. Just purchased, seems to be the best available tri-fold with good security. Hopefully it will not let me down!

for those of you pulling the trigger on the solid fold 2.0, why are you choosing this over waiting for the backflip to hit the market? right now I think the backflip has the better features, and considering how long I plan to keep this truck, I can wait a month of 2 for the cover. but I am curious if others think the SF 2.0 offers advantages? any input is appreciated.

I need bed security asap....that and it's avaliable now. All I need is weather protection, security, durability, and quality. It fits the bill for my needs at the moment.....

I'm not really in the know, but what does the backflip offer that the solid fold doesn't?

Rails that you have to clamp on the side of your truck bed.

the two I care about are that the bakflip opens all the way (folds up to the rear window and you can drive with it like that) and the single cable pull to open it, rather than the two grip pulls on the solid fold (though I assume this trade-off probably means the solid fold is more secure).

but I am willing to be convinced otherwise, since I am somewhat impatient and would love an excuse to order one now!

I am waiting for sure, to me there is no comparison, I am actually considering the g4 if it can be removed easily enough. That fold a cover 2.0 looks like a POS to me, why would I want to have to walk to each side of the truck and screw with those janky latches? No comparison to me. Just my .02

Why would I want to put all my hockey gear in the backseat? That stuff stinks reaaaally bad!

I have a truck bed for a reason, put shit I don't want in the cab. Besides ever tried to pull a 50lb bag out of a passenger door when there's vehicles parked right beside you?

The one thing that I don't like about the BakFlip (or any low-profile cover that I've seen) is that it has these drain channels in the bed rails that empty through a tube in the front. I'm still awaiting delivery of my truck and I don't recall every detail of the bed; aren't there a couple tiny drain holes towards the front of the bed? To those holding out for the BakFlip or Undercover Flex, etc, how do you plan to route the drainage tubing? Or are these low-profile ones sealed well enough that the drainage is redundant/not necessary?

The SF 2.0 sits on top of the bed caps, which is why I'm leaning towards it at the moment. If there's an easy solution to the drainage "issues" of the low-pro ones, I'd likely lean towards one of those offerings.

I like how easy the Solid Fold can be removed when needed as well! The G4 seems more complicated to remove completely, and you'll still have the wind rails and a bunch of clamps still attached when it's take off.

I do like the front access of the G4 though. Do you know if there's any cutting required for the Tacoma because of the bed and rail liners that come stock on our trucks?

From what I can tell the BakFlip will require drilling a hole in the bed to run the drain tube out the bottom of the truck. Also it seems that the BakFlip can be jimmied open with a coat hanger while tail gate is closed and locked. Two very bad issues

I think the drilling may be inaccurate, I'm not for sure but I think someone on here told me the tacos have the rubber grommets to feed the drain hose through. Not positive

Yeah I'm not sure how easy the g4 is to remove. I like the functionality of it

are these the drain holes in question? (there is one on each side)
