Buyer Beware: Southern Retrofits / LSC15

Can you get the V2 XSB halos yet? Thinking of the Panamera shrouds with dual halos.

 

I actually just got a new set of them in the other day because the Amber is way brighter than before

 

After having my lights for a few weeks I just recently noticed that they will cause static on the radio. If the radio station is coming in clear and strong there is no change, but if there is any static at all the begin with, turning on the lights will double it. From what I've read this is from the high voltages used in the lights throwing an RF signal and can be remedied with a clip-on graphite toroid.

 

Ever have issues after install with the high beam indicator in the gauge cluster not lighting up?

 

Yeah it won't work unless you have a piece plugged in your unused socket. I got some eBay ones for really cheap and mine works.

 

Mine doesn't light up.

bellassaiw10, I'm assuming it just acts as a jumper? Can you describe which of the three connections are jumpers together, please? Thanks.

Yes not sure how the little box works and of course can't find it now but I'll get a picture of it in the morning along with a link for you guys.

 

It doesn't act as a jumper but as a resistor to simulate a headlight load. I got a cheap ebay one and it burned up. I'm glad it didn't start a fire. The terminals were kinda thin and I'm not sure they made good contact. Also I used dilectic grease in the connection which was probably a bad idea. Here is the pic:

I'll probably save up for the VLED one which has a heat sink for safety.



Actually I don't see the resistor for H4 or 9003 on the VLED website so I might have to look around a bit.

 

So basically a 50w 6ohm resistor just like the ones I used on my blinkers due to LEDs that came with my cbi DIY front

 

I've got the black and blue box one, have had it for about 2 years now no problems

 

You'd think you could get by with one that only connects to the high beam so the resistor is only activated when highs on and not the whole time truck is being driven to help prevent burning it out

 

Probably, not sure how it works but mine hasn't had any issues and it's been through just about everything. I think an old bulb will do the same thing

 

I sometimes drive 9hrs straight through the night back and forth to Williston...

 

I meant an old bulb in the unused socket haha. You'll be fine with a cheap eBay one just don't get one that's some wires heat shrunk together... At least get some that are in a box lol

Does the etched TRD logo change the light dispersion at all?

 

I have a question regarding the stability of the led halos. Have you or anyone customers had any issues with them as of late? I know there was a lot in the past bit haven't heard a single thing lately about any failing. Wondering if they finally got their shit together on those
