I park as far from the door as I can. Saves on dents to my truck.

To anyone worried about get up and go...it is all about shifting points. try light footing the gas through first gear (about 10-15mph) and hit the gas right at the start of second gear and you will feel the power. other than that, I agree with everything the OP said. And I notice a complete difference is responsiveness and smoothness after 880 miles. and my mileage does seem to slowly be getting better.. now getting about the same as OP.

Same here, I can't tell you how many scrapes/dents I have on my car from idiots. Here in St. Louis, MO people get their licenses out of a cereal box. No formal training or education

Senses your phone or a fob approaching the door. Tap the lock, and you're in. Pretty cool.

Mine just did that too on this last tank of gas... Couldn't get over 17 no matter how "granny" I drove it on the first thousand miles, then after filling up 2 days ago, I am at 19.3mpg on this tank... Didn't change driving habits at all.
Now find me some wood to knock on :)

And when I do that there always seems to be some asshole that will park right next to me no matter how many spots there are open between me and the store, lol

Dont sweat it. Modern engine tech is solid. Some people break their engines in really hard with good results. I plan to break mine in the same way I drive everyday which is sometimes hard sometimes easy and everything in between.

Thanks for the post OP - I'm on the fence concerning new vs used. As for the break-in period recommendations, I think a lot of that is more for the transmission learning your driving habits than any possible damage to the vehicle. Buying any brand new automatic and running the cruise control for a long drive won't teach it anything resulting in customer complaints of rough, or sluggish shifting. Some better than others, but this has become a widespread issue in the sport sedan segment. Typically between Acura, Lexus, BMW, Merc...etc. The fix is pretty simple, disconnect the battery for 20 minutes. When you drive it again be as aggressive as you normally drive and it should re-learn your habits

2300 miles now on DCSB MT SPORT. Mileage and acceleration continue to improve. Break-in recommendations from dealer and owners manual similar to all other vehicles I've owned. Used to drive 45k/yr...lots of new rigs over 40+ yrs of working. Constant speed is the enemy of ring and bearing seating...don't know about auto trans break-in..I've never had a modern one.

5100 miles on the 4x2 sport double cab. No issues for the dealer to address. Best mileage is 22.9 on a flat West Texas highway going 75. I have gotten use to the sewing machine noises from injectors, engine cycle switching and the constant hunting by the transmission to find the right gear when climbing hills or mountains (pressing the ECT button helps with this).

I continue to like the quietness and I just need to press the accelerator more than in my gen2 when taking off. Factory tonneau keeps things dry and secure.

Ready for an oil change and some mud flaps.

Posse on Broadway was his pre commercial stuff that was pretty good. Came out in the late 80's. Lots of bass. His ode to Seattle if you will.

What does one have to get used to with respect to 'engine cycle switching'?

Just FYI, TRD Sports are seeing a tad better MPg due to the air damn under the bumper. I myself was thinking of buying that part and putting it on my TRD OR.

I'm very happy I went with the full package with JBL. I love my music. Only gripe I have with it though is that my driver side door window controls vibrate with some of the songs with deep bass. Annoying at times, I just don't know how to fix the vibrat besides putting my hand on the window controls :(

There is a noise difference when the engine transitions back and forth between the Atkinson and otto modes
