Awesome! This is why I bought a Toyota.

I bought mine new back in '08 as well, but have a relatively measly 120,000 Kilometres on mine. I would be thrilled to see that kind of mileage.

That is amazing!! I haven't seen much higher... and I definitely haven't on a Taco.

Have you had to do any other major maintenance?

I did not do any mods to the truck it is just as it was the day it left the North Bakersfield Toyota lot ... here are the repairs I've done so far ... Changed the drive belt twice, shocks and struts once, CV boot and U joint, It seems I have to replace the fan motor mechanism about every other year ... I have had the transmission serviced twice they still say it smells and looks good for this many miles. I get a tune up service every 60,000 and I've had my oil changed once per month since the day I bought it new .... I think putting on the miles over a short period of time is one reason it's done so well. I'm hoping to give this truck some rest soon as I'm looking to buy another Tacoma soon.

Please drive it until 625k miles. That's 1 million km which would be super cool to us Canadians.

If you want to stay with the same drivetrain, you should look sooner to get what you want since 2015 availability is lessening every week.

That is 947,039.4 KM Wow! At 15 MPG that is 39,231 gallons of gas! Up here we would call that the ultimate Highway Princess.

My 1991 4 Runner has 186,000 KM on it and is dying...read as of Nov 2 DEAD! It is not the miles so much as the years on most vehicles.

HIghest I have seen on a truck in a very long time.

    Take Care

Definitely impressive mileage. These trucks seem to really not be phased by near infinite highway driving! The total fuel consumption estimate is interesting too... at our prices here, that would be about five times the sticker price of a brand new fully loaded taco just on fuel over the last 8 years :goingcrazy:

As for your '91, if it's only put on 186,000km in 25 years that's probably all city driving which is a lot harder on vehicles. Be glad you got a 4runner and not a Ford! I had a '93 Explorer that I gave to my younger brother a few years ago when he got his license... he's still driving it and it's on it's third engine with only ~170,000km last time I checked. 98% City with some wheeling.

I bought the 4Runner from a guy in Rupert 14 years ago when it had 78K on it after 10 years. I put just over 100K on it since, mostly city time wise with a several long runs thrown in. You are right it is the city driving that kills them along with copious amounts of salted winter city streets.

About to drop the hammer on a 2016 and will consider undercoating the truck on the hopes it will survive longer. Terrace winters are a lot milder than yours but that is a mixed blessing when it comes to salt corrosion.
