For the folks who did not have front plates installed by the dealer, are there no holes in the bumper at all? Do the dealers actually drill new holes for the mount when needed?
I’ve got a truck on order and would be interested in alternative mounting solutions as well (Oregon requires front plates). If something cool pops up, I’ll request my dealer not drill holes (if that’s what they do).

for years...the Corvette guys in front tag states would keep the front tag on a mangled tag holder in the car: "sorry officer, if fell off on my way home" :D

For the paranoid...4 years, cars, no issues. I'll just keep mine off. Most cops don't give a shit

I didn't cover them and I really don't notice them. Although i'm getting some touch up paint to cover a scratch so i might try to melt some plastic into the holes then sand/ paint over it.

I'd agree, most cops don't care. However, you better have a valid license, be under the legal limit, be clear of warrants, have valid insurance, and nothing to hide in your Taco ;)

I'm trying to figure out how the truck was released to you without one?
If its required in your state how did the dealer release the truck without it. Wouldn't that not meet all the requirements for the truck to be released?

I had to sign documents saying that I received a front plate and front plate mount when i bought my truck in CA. I bet if you go back to the dealer they will give you one for free.

when i bought my truck i didnt even think twice about the dealer putting two screws in the bumper. Its required, there's two divots to start them, moving on....
The only thing is i wish i had my drill to predrill. Luckily he was pretty good and didnt slip or crack anything.

Good question I'm not sure. It would be pretty petty for a cop to give a ticket out for that while you still have dealer plates.
