    My dealer told me
    1. The ECT button was for the outlet in the bed
    2. The plastic PAINTED fenders on the sport and limited were not painted, the plastic is dyed, so don't worry about chips.

They just wanted you to buy what they had available on the lot.

The dealer might have been trying to get you a truck as quickly as possible (by lying to you). Since you're in Washington, depending on which model of truck you ordered, there may have not been any allocations with JBL. When I put in my orders (TRD OR LB), there were absolutely no JBL packages headed to the entire NW region.

Dealers don't really know more than us consumers when it comes to supplier contracts. If this was the case it would have already been discussed on here. Dealer is trying to justify the high costs.

I wanted a Tacoma with JBL also. We have 2 Toyota dealers here in Tucson. Toyota wouldnt give the smaller dealer an allocation for a JBL Taco. Back and forth for about 3 weeks before they said they couldnt do it. They couldnt even get one reallocated for whatever reason. I had to go to the larger dealer across town. They said JBL Tacos are only given to big dealers in areas of the country where its popular which didnt include Tucson. But they could get one in route to another dealer diverted. Dunno how much of this is BS or truth but the larger dealer was able to get me the exact truck I wanted with a 6 week wait.

Try another dealer in your area.

    This may not be true.

Check post 442-446. Continue reading for more information. @Letsgoplaces claimed to have a JBL manual dc sport on the way but haven't heard anything more about it. If you look at the build sheet inside the quote of post 442 you'll see that a 7543 (manual dc sport) is in the FP (JBL) package row. As well as the 7545 (manual dc or). I have briefly spoken with two dealerships that claim they can get me a 7545 with FP but it will take months... they could be full of it but none the less.

They're both owned by Harman/Kardon which is in the new BMW's. They also Own Bang and Olufsen which is in alot of audi's. Nice little monopoly they have going.

I just spoke to a dealer rep here in Texas, and he said there is no problem allocating trucks with JBL systems in them. I would bet the dealer the OP talked to was just trying to get them to a buy a truck already in inventory or on its way to the dealership.

    exactly

maybe they'll do what nissan did and switch to bose. Then they get to sell you a 'premium' sound system that has a huge market name as being great. Not that bose is anything special lol.

Toyota are managing the production line right now getting as many trucks to dealers as fast as they can. Making options available to for EVERY build will slow production down. RIGHT NOW I believe they are focusing on production numbers, and will get to building to spec later on as production slows a little bit. They want to get as many trucks on the lot right now to back up all the marketing puffage on TV.

I'm focusing on lift kit and wheels/tires... that's taking long enough.

I must have been high or something when I said that lol. I have a DCSB Sport 4x4 Manual with Prem/Tech (HH) which does not have JBL , maybe I did not clarify that. Sorry if I mislead anyone.

It is not optional to build with JBL

Perhaps it is regional. So I am in Washington state but am in Arizona frequently so no problem buying a truck there. I am looking for a 7543 with premium tech and JBL. Can you recommend a dealer Letsgoplaces?

I am a dealer, Riverview Toyota. :) It is not optional in our region. Below is my ordering page and there is no option to select FP (Prem/tech with JBL). There is only HH (prem/tech w/no JBL) Hopefully this is helpful.

Yup. That's exactly what I said above. No TRD/JBLs allocated to the entire NW region. That requires a custom order (and a painful wait time).

Edit: Looks like the same for the Arizona region?

I see it says tonneau is required is that true? I don't want a tonneau. Have you seen how they are installed and how they cut the bed cap to install the latching hardware for the tonneau. It is pretty bad? So you are a dealer how long for you to get a 7543 with HH?

Interesting. I just set up an order for a DCLB TRD OR (7568), and apparently the dealer I spoke to can't get that model without a P&T w/ JBL unless they do a special order to remove the package. I told him I didn't want the JBL to hold up the order delivery, as I had read online they could be hard to get. He said JBL was no problem to get, it was the DCLB that was hard to find.

If you are looking at the Toyota Build your own function, that is incorrect. the Toyota build application uses your location to look at the inventory available in your region and will only let you build a vehicle that is available in your area. That is why you get weird messages that try to say "x package is only available with graphite interior" or whatever. It just means that the only model they have in inventory that has what you want also has a tonneau cover on it.
