If you have a hitch on the Runner you could get one of those cargo carries. That would free up a lot of room.

I normally go light and sleep in the truck, but for those times when I want a little more space...

I lifted my vintage camper (1958) 6 inches - now it has more clearance than the truck. I was on a mission this trip...

but then you have to unload everything before you can open the rear hatch of the Runner. Not to mention it reduces your entry/exit clearance to almost nothing so you're bound to rip it off if you drive on any slightly rough dirt roads.

Nice tent selection! I was looking at those for a while before pulling the trigger on the Oztent!

I love the trailer part. It sits very high. Has great clearence. Took it sveral weekends ago to a place called Bucks Pocket. Had to have a 4wheel drive to get back in to camp site. Lots and lots of large rocks in the jeep rated trail. My Tacoma did great. This trailer never missed a beat. It clear everything without a problem. You can put ALL your camping gear in the trailer and that way you never have to take it out when you home.

Thanks Travis. I've heard nothing but good things from the OZ tent owners on ExPo.

We are very pleased with the performance of the Kodiak canvas tent. By my count we have 26 nights in the tent, across 10 family trips. Average cost per nightly use is $16.54 and falling. I think we are getting our monies worth. :D

Did you make it to Borrego Fest this year? I could not make it this time.

This is my one-man camping setup. I carry a lot more gear in the cab when my girlfriend is there, but I avoid the clutter when I can.

I used to hate shells that looked like that but now I think they are the best shells out there. Great setup

If you sleep in it much, a raised shell is the only way to go.
