so on my truck, i've figured out the one thing i hate.. the 2 speed wiper selection of Low and High...

Is switching to an intermittent wiper setup an easy task? Have any of yall done this? Where can i find more info on changing to this setup?

It is just were annoying when its mildly raining and the low setting is still too fast and then the wiper blades drag on a dry windshield. Flicking it up to the Mist setting every 2-4 seconds is not practical either.

I've done this on all 3 of my second gens. It takes...one screwdriver and like 4 minutes.

The toughest part is actually finding a stalk for sale. I got my last one here via the buy/sale forums for like 80 or 100, including shipping

Do some searching and you'll find walkthroughs...turn the wheel a bit to remove two screws, pop off the pastic cover a bit, push one clip...bang, the old one is out.

I got mine on ebay for $58, from a 2008 Camry. I did a thread on the swap/install, too. It's so easy, removing some screws, pushing some tabs, & the wiper control is plug & play...

What a luxury on my TRD... You'd figure 2016 would have all the tiny annoyances figured.

I can live without power windows, but really, a 2 spd. wiper control on any car made after 2010 is just a dick move, it's been roughly 50 years since it's invention and over 45 years since it's introduction.... Got this off of wikipedia.

Robert William Kearns (March 10, 1927 – February 9, 2005) was an American inventor who invented the intermittent windshield wiper systems used on most automobiles from 1969 to the present. His first patent for the invention was filed on December 1, 1964.

Need to do this on my base 09 Prerunner, not having intermittent wipers is my biggest gripe about the truck.

I know your pain! I just did this one two weeks ago. I never even thought to look at the wipers until the first time it rained, and it drove me nuts! I also installed part number 84652-02710. I got it on Amazon. Works beautifully and took about 20 minutes to install. This video doesn't show him doing it, but it is an excellent reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSBVABpEkU4

If you are going to be doing much digging around behind trim I recommend going to harbor freight and getting their plastic trim pry set for $5, it'll save your trim from getting scratched up by screwdrivers.

Just swapped mine out, had to use a little more force to get the old lever to come free but I got it. I couldn't believe that Toyota just had a hi lo switch and not the intermittent kind. I did appreciate the walk down memory lane, took me back to the days of my miss spent youth and a 67 Impala. I think that was the last vehicle I owned that did not have intermittent wiper function.
