I'm kind of a flash light freak too. I have a nitecore tiny monster, and a sunwayman titanium dream. Many other really cool lights, but those two are my babies...

No one flashlight will meet all your needs. Buy decent quality ones first and get a different one every couple months. You'll thank yourself later when you have one in every bag,vehicle,drawer..........

What is the point of a 16340 unless you had a flashlight that only held 1 CR123?

I don't even know where any of my handheld flashlights are anymore. I just have way too many Headlamps. I have four in my car right now because I just went camping with a group (and I rightly assumed they would all forget a light source haha).

The Black Diamond SPOT headlamp is my personal favorite for a balance between size/weight, lumens, cost, and battery life.

Make sure to get the newest model (it is rectangular, smaller, brighter, and better all around) that was recently released.

I have a Klarus XT-30, great light. Just make sure you buy circuit protected batteries if you are buying rechargeable lithium, Orbtronics is what I use with a Nitecore I2 charger.

I carry 2 streamlight stinger ds led's for work. they have been really good. they are rechargeable which is good for me cause i use my light alot. cr123's are expensive for the amount of use my lights get.

I have 2 weapon mounted stream lights and are very pleased with them but had a handheld one for work and replaced it 2 times and broke about 2 months after the second time. Can't remember what model it was but stopped buying streamlight after that.

    Too many to list now.
I might be biased but the Rigid one is amazingly bright, rechargeable battery with wall mount and 12v car charger as well included for 100 bucks, I've got two of them, use them all the time.

Ditto for Petzl headlamps, I've used several for years, I love a hands-free light for many tasks and camping.

I use a headlamp at work on my hardhat, but hate them for camping. Lots of bugs in Hawaii and they like to fly towards the light, which usually means flying into my face...

Surefire makes the best and most durable flashlights they are also the most expensive and lack many features of less expensive brands. If you life absolutely counts on your light, Surefire is what you need.

SureFire makes good lights, however there are a ton lights that are just as well built. SureFires can fail, I've had it happen (was taken care of by manufacturer). As far as spendy, they are, but not even in the league with many customs.
