So after using my 16' Taco for a week now I have started wondering how i could incorporate remote start. I also wondered how I could unlock all of the doors when my driver door unlocks when I walk up and open the door with the key in my pocket. Because it locks all of the doors when I place my finger on the handle.

Does anyone have any insight? I know the remote start is more of a stretch, but the unlocking aspect can't be to hard.

Check the radio settings for customize features. If not it can be changed at the dealer to unlock all .

On the head unit just click the settings button and page over to the second page. There is a button labeled car or vehicle and you can adjust quite a bit of things including how many doors lock and unlock. Even how loud the beep is and how long the lights stay on after locking the vehicle.

Was this a Toyota add on or just aftermarket done at the dealer?

Lots of cool things to adjust through the headunit. You can change when the doors automatically lock and unlock (shift to and from P, speed, cant remember all the options) having the headlights stay on after you get out is a nice feature I have always liked on the domestics. I get spoiled not having to turn my headlights off and on now

easiest way to set all unlock on the smart key is just stand by the vehicle, turned off, and hold down the lock and panic button for 5 seconds. the car will beep twice and now the smart key will unlock all 4 doors

Thanks I haven't played with any of the settings. Hell we only have about 500 miles on it in about a month.

and whats nice is, the sr does not have alarm or keyless which the it added. my other cars already has alarm and keyless so i felt like i never got the full value until i got the unit installed on my sr.

my only complaint is the shock sensor is too sensitive, i have to unlock my car to put stuff in the bed, i have to get the sensitivity adjusted.
