Smallest Leveling Kit

Just got a set of Hancook RF10 in 265/70/17 installed on stock Sport rims....no rubbing at all, stock sport with 4-leaf pack.

Just ordered a set of billy's 5100 from headstrong off-road.

 

So would this also work using the 4600's? Either way, is there any advantage to getting lift with a coil vs setting the collar higher on the shock?

 

I've been looking at the 1/2" aluminum spacers. Only looking for 3/4" or so of lift. My question is could I stack a 1/4" spacer on the 1/2" spacer for the drivers side taco lean? Or would that not work?

I decided to go with the .85" setting and I think my 2015 TRD DCSB sits perfect now with the 265 Duratracs. I was really debating the 1.75" setting, but my "rake" was only 1.25-1.50" depending on side and I didn't want to sit high in the front. I will try to post pics when I get home in a couple days.

Not the greatest pics, but my front end is just about perfectly level with the rear. Love the ride, alignment came in perfect. The problem(s) with the 1.75" setting is you really need new UCAs to make it ride right and then there are the dreaded front end vibration concerns.

 

What are you basing your statement on problems with 1.75" setting?

I have mine at 1.75 and factory UCAs and mine rides perfectly, alignment came out perfect

 

Just lower the rear to match the front. Done.

 

Yeah mine are set at 1.75 to with stock UCA and it rides better than stock.

1st time poster. Great thread and just wanted to thank you guys. At the same time, hope to add info. Just bought a 2012 Tacoma TRD w/ Off Road a couple of months ago. It had crap tires so 1st purchase was new rubber: Firestone Destination Mudders 265/75/16 and American Racing/ATX Ledge 16" rims. Everything I read said these tires would fit. The problem was the offset of the new rims: slight rubbing at full lock turns if you hit a bump, as you know. So, didn't want a full lift but read about the Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks. Ordered a set front and rear and then set about searching for the 'right' height for the fronts. Seems 1.75" is good if you have the TRD Sport with 4 leafs but the nose gets a bit high for me with the 3 leaf Off Road package if you're towing. Settled on .85 after seeing some of the posts here. Perfect level. Was told it is just a hair under 1". Will get off-road and let you and anyone else that is interested know how the 'rubbing issue' is. Looks great and love the Bilstein ride. Will wait before any recommendations. If the rubbing isn't solved will have to go to the 1.75" front height and 1" blocks on the rear. Thanks again!! Great topic and great info.

 

Brand new to the site... have left my truck stock for just about over a year now and want to do something with it... Ive read this thread, and many others that pertain to the 5100s at 1.75 and I think I am set on my new suspension setup. But before I do I have two main questions
1.) If I do choose to go with the 5100s at 1.75 will I experience any vibration in my front end? Ive been doing a ton of research and i have constantly found problems with front end vibrations after owners lift their truck to 1.75. With it being a new truck I want to do everything right so down the road I dont have any problems.
2.) I got in a recent fenderbender with one of my own vehicles backing out of the driveway (I know dumbass ) and have been considering the thought of a new front bumper to clean up the look of my mess up, and I do think aftermarket bumpers look badass. However, if i do choose to add a front bumper one of my main concerns would be how it would effect the ride and ride height with blistens at 1.75. I do haul regularly so I was hoping with the blistens set at 1.75 and a aftermarket bumper It would leave me around 1.5 of lift which would be perfect.

If anyone has any first hand, or any experience at all it would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone with your thoughts with 5100 on the corners with OME 883 springs or Ome shocks on the corners with OME 883 springs.
Will the 883 springs settle with time?

I have almost the same measurements as you
Here's mines
Left front 20 1/8 inch
Right front 20 1/2 inch
Left rear 21 1/2 inch
Right rear 22 inch

what did you end up setting your 5100 at ? I also have a 2015 dcsb Trd or 4x4

 

I went with the 0.85" setting and it is sitting almost perfectly level now with 5200 miles (I just measured it last night). The drivers side is definitely more level than the passenger (Thanks Taco lean!).

Looking for some help here. I have a 2012 dcsb sport that came with the 18" premium chrome clad wheels with 265/60/18 all season tires. I am looking at the 5100 option at 1.75" after reading some of these posts. I am also looking into buying the trd trail team 16" wheels when I do the billsteins and tires. I was wondering what the recommended tire size for that setup would be, and what the increase in my total ride height would be. As you can see i'm no expert in tires and suspension.
