You will hit it on some of the ruts. No way around it, thats why I said bumpers are a must. You want to risk it, come along.

The last trip, I kept sliding into a rut trying to go around it and up that muddy hill. Rear plate hit the berm, and managed to crack my passenger tail light from getting pushed up into it. Would have been way worse with stock bumper. I was slamming into that berm pretty hard. On the way out, Another guy smashed and popped his light out going down the same rut.

 

Is that the one where I flat my tire?

Seems like that rut claimed a few victims then. next time we go camping, might have to take that road again so I can redeem myself....... hopefully

 

I've gone up and down that same hill so many times with no problems... Never ever seemed like a tough spot.

 

Maybe that time was different since your truck was empty. No weight on the rear, plus the slick road?

 

Yeah, just that slick mud. Been up it in the rain with no issue, but I guess that was some rain soaked slick mud.

 

Need to remember where the lower road starts. Next camping trip ill take that road.

 

taking an outside line would have also been a lot easier, esp with some momentum

 

Did you have different tires when you had an easier time previously?

 

What time are we meeting on November 7? Are we just going to meet up at the big parking lot by the main gate?

 

Different tires, but it was never that muddy.

I'd like to say 9 at the gate, but I need to see what the other group is going to do. Might be better to get there before them so we don't get held up by 30 jeeps.
