 how come I don't get those kind of trick or treaters?!?
Hopefully I'll be camping in Jellystone this Halloween so maybe having truck or treaters would be bad!

Yep. They just cut a bunch of stuff and all the new scar tissue forming will try to stick to everything as it heals. By keeping mobile it'll keep breaking the scar tissue free so it doesn't bind up the stuff that is supposed to move. If you don't move enough the scar tissue sticks and then you either can't move or it hurts to move and then it's pretty painful to break all that scar tissue free. In some cases (usually on shoulders) it is so painful they will put you under anesthesia and the Dr will move it all around to break up the scar tissue.

Makes sense! Mom's planning on camping out in her recliner but we'll keep her moving. I know blood clots are a concern too.

working on a house. homeowner is clueless, contractor isn't much better and the truss people are either lazy or clueless. House has a 14' span, a 20' span with a 6' overhang for a porch and a 20' span no porch. I only have two trusses so I asked about the third 20' span. Contractor tells me that the truss place didn't design a third truss and he's just going to cut the 6' off that he doesn't need. o_O The webs don't allow for that to happen structurally
Truss people already made the guy completely redesign the house because they don't like to work in fractions and will only make trusses for even foot spans, no foot/inches.

Are those Larch (?) trees? Conifers that shed their needles. If not, then what? And where? The only place that I've seen them was in eastern Oregon - east of the John Day fossil beds. For a Rocky Mtn. person it was kind of had to ge my head around the concept of pines that loose their needles.

    Nice photo.

Yes, larch. Or "tamaracks" around here. It is kinda weird to see if you're not expecting it! So cool though... I wish it would have been sunnier. The glow that you see driving through them is awesome. This bunch is around Missoula, MT. There's a few other areas In the state with them but this area has the highest concentration.

I remember the brilliant yellow glow (a lot like aspens and cottonwoods), but sure to me looked like they were dying. Had to ask the ranger at John Day Fossil Beds about them. Felt a little sheepish after hearing his explanation. Then I though, what would you expect from someone that was born and grew up in Iowa.

Ha! Maybe he got a transfer lol.

Sadly I have had to do that. Need the truss company to send a piece of paper with a correction detail, usually two 2x6s nailed both side of top and bot cord sandwiching a 2x4 and nailed every 4"

Did I tell you about the roof I did that had a 6' overhang but the girder truss was only 1' inside the wall of the building? Free floating 6' overhang basically lol

Well damn, leaves pretty much all came down in the rainstorm the other night. I have today off and I'm thinking of taking the bike out. I'll bring a camera and see what I can find....
