I stole it from my buddy. He's on vacation, he won't know till he gets back and sees my truck in his drive way :D. Over the weight of what a half ton will move efficiently, or in the deep snow where I'm going to pull it into. A diesel will be the next big purchase for me. The newer tundy's would pull my set up just fine (I think, I'd have to borrow Sean's to find out) but I'll upgrade to a 5th wheel eventually. Holding out for that diesel tundra!!! Crossing fingers and holding my breath.

Haha nice, diesel Tundy will be pretty sick!

Random, but did you see the FaceBook memories of when we went to opening day at A-Basin 6 years ago? That was the day we boarded a half day then went to Fox and Hound where the old dude bought us Jameson all afternoon. And of course we were schmamerred by 5pm so the GF at the time had to come pick me up hahahaha. Good times
    Good luck man!

Shit you're up early Devin. I might have a few questions for Jeremy and yourself when you get back from the trip. The move date is Feb and would like some feedback on the builders you both used. Well be in Denver to start, no FoCo just yet. :(

Yeah my daughter woke me up so I decided to get my day going, nothing fun just heading into work early now, let the guy I relieve get started on his weekend. My builder was oakwood and I would build another house with them. Small issues but nothing crazy. I know they are building houses in Denver not sure where though.

I remember the issue with the paint and the siding, also remember something about you buying the AC later to save some cash etc. Lots of richmond american homes where we are looking followed by not so great reviews online. Were going to do the apartment thing for a year and scout it out before we pull the trigger on a house.

I work with builders all day and it is smart to do your research to its fullest before you buy anything. People are cutting corners where possible, damn disappointing.

Shitty, but thanks for the heads up. I'll do as much research ahead of time but difficult to separate the haters from fact. No one goes online to brag about how great their production built home is, so it becomes more of a "find the builder with the fewest complaints" exercise and drop by the house as often as possible during the build and hope jumps out as bad.

Never hurts to do "site walks" as well most should let you see how they build. if you do purchase with one I agree always check on your site and its progress. Take as many pictures as you can for documentation. Production homes are the blow and go mentality sadly, but that doesn't mean you cant get a nice house from any of them.

Bummer especially considering prices now. You would think you get what you pay for but shit, not with the market how it is now. Pay through the roof and end up getting burned is what I'm trying to avoid. Never thought about checking out current builds in progress, will defiantly inquire when we start to sit down with builders. Thanks for that.

Don't get me wrong there are some good ones but it is like a good chef, you can pay $50 for a good steak but if the cook messes it up then you paid the money for jerky... Yes you do get what you pay for and can easily find some amazingly built homes with Semi-custom and Custom builders but on the flip side, those production builders are just as "hungry" and will provide a good service if they are under your radar and are fully aware of it. ALWAYS get a third party inspector as well to go thru everything, I mean everything.

Good luck and good hunting man!

    Yeah I want a cummins.
Well mine was a spec home prior to me buying but they didn't break ground. So I changed everything, they had two spec sheets until I tore the other one up. So that was why they put the wrong color siding on but they fixed that quickly. I did my ac separate because I had connections to get a new unit and install for under $1000. I was there every day minus the days I was at work. My buddy lived in the neighborhood two blocks away and I was staying with him. I watched everything they did like a hawk. My Richmond home I built years ago was terrible, wasn't a big fan.
