Maybe do more than search a term and post photos.. Like read the actual threads. Considering the 2nd photo you posted has nothing to do with wheel spacers in the slightest.

Or wheel bearings. Or whatever is going on in here.

Wow, I've never had any wheel spacers in the rear you dumb ass, and if you had taking the time to read my original post you would know that. Stop trying to twist the truth into your false prooganda and lies. What happened here was OEM wheel stud failure, probably from me always taking my wheels on and off for maintenance and/or prepping for a weekends run. If you take some time and look it up I'm not the first person that has this happened with OEM studs and without spacers.

But..I do run spacers in the front and have been for many years now. For a few years I run 1.5" spacers but switched to .75" with in the last 2 years. Only have replaced front 2 wheel bearings since owning my taco and I've had my taco since it was new in 2008. First bearing went because I blew a CV and the second had gone bad from normal wear and tear. I wheel my junk regularly more then most and certainly a lot harder then most. So, normal wear and tear comes quickly for me.

Running 1.5" spacers, crazy I know..
    FB_IMG_1446096076341.jpg

And, I regularly tow my crawler...with spacers. Even crazier right?20150815_160654.jpg

I've got 180k miles on my lifted T4R with OEM wheels and original bearings. What set are you on? I'm not saying one way or the other is better or criticizing one for wanting to go with the widely look. People look to this forum for advice and I'm simply stating the issues and concerns they need to address before they pull the trigger on that investment. That being said if you say that wider wheels burning up wheel bearings is a myth then you need to do some more research.

I think admin needs to make this a sticky. Every owner can make their own decision but this at least educates them on the physics of what they decide to do

And I know a few people that has less miles then you and no spacers who have had to replace their bearings. The only those few have in common are 2 things are this. They hit the trails often and they all have aftermarket wheels lol

I had one go out before my truck was lifted on stock TRD sport wheels @ 84,000 miles. To me that's not uncommon. My Honda civic had one go out at 20,000 miles bone stock. Another thing to consider in proper torque when there installed. Even at the dealership or straight from the factory mistakes happen.

You should be fine. There's tons of guys running a -10 on here with no problems.

That's not too bad, as long as you don't have spacers. Check your bearings every oil change though.

I'm getting pretty tired of the "leave it OEM" crowd.

Are these wheels OEM? Don't they have a +10mm offset? ....drops mic.

It's pretty simple, the most leverage on the wheel bearing is the outside of the tire. Moving the outside of the tire away from the bearing increases the leverage and it works as a multiplier of force on the bearing. Larger tires also move the tire edge away from the bearing increasing forces seen, plus larger tires also usually weigh more leading to a compounding effect.

[IMG]ok I think I want these in 17". I think I am only going to level my truck. So what back spacing and tires would be the best fit? I kinda want to stay close to factory tires size for fuel efficiency.
