I used to work with someone who grew up with him, said even before he was famous he was a little douche bag.

 

I couldn't believe how bad this looked on the 2016. A hole drilled right on the front bumper, for the block heater plug.
It looked so out of place. I see a few pictures on autotrader with it in the front bumper, but most are by the fog light housing.

Man more power to you then. I could never, I'm in nj and run out of here to go south every chance I get in the winter.

 

Give me the old style heater cord sticking out of the grill any day. I snapped the plastic on the fog lamp housing one day last winter when it was -30. You also have to plug the dumb Toyota cord into the housing , then plug that cord into a standard extension cord. Just a royal pain. And your screwed if you lose or don't have the Toyota cord. Another example of the old style working so why change it.

 

I would expect PU140-00905 or PU140-00913 would work just fine if you'd like to have the old-style cord for the 3.5L V6. PU140-00906 is the old-style block heater for the 2.7L L4.

The heater itself is the same, however the cords are slightly different. I don't remember the exact differences, but can check tomorrow.

Anyone have a picture of the OEM install?

I'm expecting my 2016 in couple of weeks. I've sent the dealer an email asking about this as well.

I'd like a block heater but want a normal AC cord, not the special adapter pigtail.

 

This is what the block heater and cord looked like when I installed on my 2nd Gen (pic grabbed from a ttora thread). I would really like to find the current part number for a block heater with normal AC cord. It was a Toyota Canada part C0140-00889.

Either PU140-00905 or PU140-00913 will both work for you.
