Hated doing it, but had to have a "certified" installer do mine in order to qualify for the warranty. I went to the dealer and they did it for $250. Since I did tires at the same time the gave me a deal on mounting and balancing ($50) and a free alignment.

At 4WP, I'm not sure $500 will get you very much in the parts we're interested in, lol. Still sounds like fun though.

Been meaning to do this one for a while now. IIRC the one way breather pushes air out causing a vacuum which will suck air/water in through the axle seals. The point of the mod is to make it a 2-way so that it can pull air back in through the nipple and you don't contaminate your diff with whatever mucky water you happen to be driving through.

I found a mod that someone put a small fuel filter at the end of the hose rather than a new breather. Not sure that's the smartest way to go though.

You should follow Micah's lead and just take a power drill to the existing one-way breather:thumbsup:

Got it home today. Tech options are ridiculous, I need to read the manual to figure out the Etune / Nav / KDSS / 4WD crawl modes / etc. Comfortable. Drives nice. Only complaint thus far is there is actually a lot less room for stuff than the Xterra had... and I can't lay down in the back which is a huge disappointment because that's a really convenient way to camp. The Xterra you could lie down because the rear seat bottoms removed easily and allowed you to fold the cargo floor totally flat and have 7+ feet, but the 4R bottom rear seat cushions are not removable and only fold forward so you don't get a flat area and I only have about 6 feet to lie down. I could do it at an angle but if I camp with Meredith then it won't work.. Still a much nicer truck though. Lift is coming, just ordered it, and I need to rip off these faggy ass step rails ASAP.

Anyone need a IMMRYO rear view mirror adjustment bracket? Got one from my 2nd Gen Taco. ... $20 There's a big thread on them here somewhere. Cool piece of kit.

I would think any suspension / tire place could do a lift install. It's not hard, but compressing the springs is tricky and I personally go to a shop - Millersburg Tire (in Millersburg) because my buddy runs it and he'll do the work for not a lot of coin. I'd rather have a pro do it in 2 hours (which is how long it took to put in the entire OME suspension on my Xterra) and pay them $250 than spend 10 hours throwing shit around in my garage in a fit of rage. Plus you can get the truck immediately aligned if you are at a tire shop, no driving on new tires with wonky alignment to get to a shop.

In all honesty I could give a fuck what you drive, I just want to know when we can tear up some wilderness together. Whatever vehicle you drive I'll still find a reason to shit on you and your grossly enormous wang.
