Boxy's builds always encompass the design everyone desires, and the simplicity as well. Always clean, good looking head turners that function well. He should probably start his own company, like the Foose of the Toyota world. hahahaha. (I know Foose does insane work, but he has his own style that everyone can truly appreciate...)

Haha. funny. I appreciate the compliment, but far too lofty a comparison and no one would buy my crap anyway.

Cool. ComeUp asked me if I'd do a little writeup for their blog a couple weeks ago. That just went up yesterday. You'll like their winches.

Lofty, yes, but it explained my direction....and your vehicles sell quickly when you do let one go, so your last statement is invalid.

Clearly Warn has earned the reputation they have. The Warn 8274-50 I had on my FJ40 was fantastic and I put that winch through some serious torture with never a problem. In terms of quality and performance and now getting some actual real-world experience I think the ComeUp winches are every bit as good as anything from Warn and often better when comparing similar winches between the two brands.

When it comes time for me to get a winch I'm going with either Warn or ComeUp. Staying away from smittybuilt anything

A couple small tweaks were made last night. I've been thinking about changing how my spare tire is mounted for a while. When I originally built the swing out I had the spare mounted straight up and down. It's been fine but I wanted to tuck it in a bit tighter and possibly angle it to match the rear window. Also my hilift has been mounted on an angle behind the spare. That wasn't going to work with the changed spare so it got moved to a vertical position next to the tire. So I finally made those changes last night.

Lastly, I swapped out my non-locking swingout latch for a locking one.

Haven't yet. Some of it is just those crappy cell phone pics. The angle is weird. It's really not covered much.

    Light bulb!!!

I love how the swing out is only half of the bumper...I think I will do a swing out like that....If I need to roll with the tailgate down I can always do it without worrying that it will stick out too far (cali problems)

Thanks Adam!! Always gathering great knowledge from you

I like the angled carrier more as well. Looks better with it matching the rear hatch angle.

How do you like the MT/R's so far? We sell them at work but I've never run them myself so when customers ask about them I don't have a baseline other than reviews I've read.

I've been really happy with the MT/Rs. They're a bit noisy on the road but that's to be expected. Tough as nails. The BFG KM2s probably have a little better tread life but I was willing to trade that for a little better performance in the rocks.

Have you had them in the rain at all? How did they handle it? Floaty/swimmy, or did they track pretty straight?

Been fine in the rain. They are not great on hardpack snow/ice unless you have them siped.
