I'm putting a light bar on my roof soon if I can find a way to mount it without drilling, do anybody have a secure way of doing so? And if my truck is a 2001 Tacoma I would need a 42" right? I haven't had time to measure.

You're welcome. Rough country is the only ones that I know of that does not require any drilling but they are for the 2nd gen body style that have the rails on it.

So rough country doesn't make 1st light bars that don't require drilling?

I am a bog fan of rough country and rigid mounts. I had the relentless one on my 2001 Tacoma and they were good and built well. I would honestly check rough country or rigid or n-fab. They all make quality mounts.

I was too when I did my first one and never had a problem with it, even when I took the light bar off. I put silicon over my self tapping screws and it never leaked or came loose or anything. I don't suggest doing it if you are like that. I might would have it professionally done somewhere or try to find some mounts that you don't have to drill with. There is always the option of getting a roof rack and basket. That always looks good. My buddy did it and did double stack in the front one on each side and double stack in the back and it looks fantastic.

Thanks for the advice! Do you usually drill a hole for the power wire? run it into the door? or down the windshield?

I done it all, personally I like just running it in the door. It's a lot easier than taking our roof out to run some wires. If you take the roof down then you gotta worry about getting the whole thing back up since you can't just take a section down.

It tucks nicely behind the original weatherstripping and on the side with the power cord I cut a little slit in the middle of the weatherstripping and ran the wire straight down the A pillar into the engine bay and to the battery

Yeah. By having the brackets installed where they are. Just what I've heard. I've been thinking about it myself. It wouldn't keep me from doing it though.
