To add, without the shocks they were a little bouncy when I would floor it but other than that I couldn't tell

Shock Relocation Kit from BAMF and Bilstein 5125s (12" Stroke)
    Wednesday, 28OCT15

Went over to @Timbo89 's to have him weld up the kit so I can finally get some shocks up in the rear. Went pretty smooth, just had to cut off the stock mounts and clean up the frame. Shock towers are mounted forward the axle on both driver and passenger sides. Had a hiccup on the driver side lower mount when it was being welded in so we had to drill the inner hole a little bigger so it would line up right. Gonna get some weld washers so we can get that hole fixed.

Got it all laid out and ready to go

nice! I would love to get a relocation kit and a shackle flip, but with my current plans as advised by keene, I should wait to get any longer shocks or anything until I build a bed cage then get longer shocks. Id love to at least get the shackle flip....but that still requires me to get a 12" shock

Nice Job!! While following this build and seeing all the awesome welding, it has been a learning curve for me. I've always been under the impression that when welding on these newer trucks you can do serous damage to the ECU and other electric components. Looks like that's not the case. Any feed back is appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Thanks! Definitely has been quite the experience for me. No issues with the ECU although it would be a good idea to disconnect the battery when welding. Although I don't think we did that when doing the shock relocation kit eh @Timbo89 ? I know we did when doing the chevy leaf springs

First time doing the 63 swap we disconnectedthe battery due to removing the fuel tank. The shock kit we didn't and nothing was messed up

Always a good idea to disconnect the battery. 5 minutes isn't worth the cost of a new ECU.

Don't bother with a shackle flip if you're going LT.
