Definitely not as simple as most, but it sounds like you would have to pop off the plastic cover on the seat backs and then it is a couple bolts and the seat bottoms come right out. Might be worth it if it gets you a nice flat surface.

I have to do that in the FJ, but the seat bottoms in these have knurled knobs to easily take the seat bottoms out.

Also, Tundra brake upgrade. Oh and did I mention that I'm considering ordering an AP bumper and swapping the coil springs I got for beefier ones? Yea....

My winch really wants to go on already:(

Had a few hours of down time today and I took the 4R out to play with the 4WD and the various modes. Did some fun, moist gravel and dirt roads in Tusc, Guernsey, and Coshocton Counties and then a little of Wills Creek. It was last minute so I didn't invite anyone.

Impressions thus far, as compared to both the Xterra and my '12 Tacoma:

-Exponentially more comfortable than both (had the SR5 seats in my Taco so these seats are probably on par with TRD seats...?)
-Interior way nicer than both (looks a lot like the '16 Taco interior, actually)
-Ride is super smooth even on rough roads, way better than both
-Electronic gadgets are technically 'better' but I really don't give 2 shits about them, I kind of liked the simplicity of the Xterra
-Acceleration is way worse than the Xterra but better than the (4 cyl) Taco. Xterra ran like a raped ape. 4R is actually kind of sluggish.
-Gas mileage is noticeably better than both, average with 4hi use at slower speeds and some two lane in 2hi at 65 mph was about 20.5 mpg
-4WD is nicer to use due to the actual T-case lever, not a knob like the Taco and X had
-Actual 4WD seems better than Taco, but not as good as Xterra (didn't use the locker or Atrac though)
-Rear window that lowers is a nice feature although I learned pretty fast to keep it closed at higher speeds because leaves were getting sucked in and were flying around and bitch slapping me in the face before getting sucked out the open driver's window
-Traction control engages later and differently than it did on the Xterra, so I was constantly having mild freak outs as the ass end would slide into ditches and such before the Trac would engage. I got it figured out by the end of the day and was doing a lot of good sliding in the corners in 2hi
    -I don't need 47 cupholders
-The hood skewp looks cool from the outside but serves no purpose and actually is kind of a PITA to look over
-Super quiet interior, I was catching myself going like 80 on pavement because it felt / sounded like I was going 55

Do you know anyone that has a wall mount spring compressor at a shop? Since those coils and shocks aren't already assembled, it is sketchy at best to do those with the autozone type spring compressors. And my guess is those reuse the tophat off your stock coilovers, so you can't assemble them without removing the stock coilovers. I guess you could try the jack method of dissembling and reassembling on the truck. I've seen it done, but have never done it myself. How were you planning that?

Nice! You dont waste a minute!

When you are offroading just leave ATRAC on. Once you use it a few times it is pretty amazing. I think it only works in 4LO though...not sure if they have changed it to work in HI.

If you have a buddy or another vehicle just take everything to Pep Boys or the like. They had once quoted me $20 to swap struts...This is kind of the same thing. I would never use rental compressors on heavy springs...even the wall mount feels sketchy with them. In that respect it is tough to say if the no=compressor method would work with the heavies but if the truck weight it up to par it should....and your LCAs need to be in proper order...I have a seized bushing or two on mine and they would not drop enough to use that method
