Bull Bar

My son has one on his 2007 Tacoma and he hit an Acura from behind. It damaged her car and only bent/dented his chrome bull bar (also scratched his bumper where the bull bar bent). All we had to do to his truck was put on a new bull bar. Even used the old brackets that were bolted to the frame. Her damage was much worse!
I know a lot of people dislike them, but $150 was cheaper than the body work that would have had to be done if he would not have had it. And like I said, I like the way it looks.

 

That's exactly what this truck needs, something that will make the lower bumper stick out even further!!

 

Well dang. The 2016 already has a Jay Leno chin. With a bull bar it looks like it has a double chin.

I thought Tacoma owners were loyal to each other. At least that's what I have found out in the real world. Guess I should stay off forums. I thought I did a decent job of explaining why I had a bull bar.

 

you don't live in socal. If you lived in socal, you wouldn't run a bull bar. There is one group of people who run bull bars around here. They also run every chrome addon and sticker you can buy at pepboys as well. it's disgusting

 

I like it, thinking of one myself, where did you get it, and the sliders, what kind?

Sure glad I don't live in "socal" (I assume that's Southern California). Down here in Louisiana, we hunt, fish, golf, drink beer and put bull bars on our trucks. But I do agree with less chrome (that's why I painted my grill black and have a black bull bar).

I have the factory predator sidesteps (ordered them with truck.) The Bull bar was bought on Amazon a few years ago. Generic brand.

 

We are just all having fun with you. As you will notice in this forum, pretty much everyone has their own opinion of what looks good and what does not. However, if there is one thing that just about everyone seems to agree with and complain about, it's the giant lower bumper that sticks out too far on the new Tacoma.

Even the engineer who designed it felt compelled to explain why it was necessary at the press introduction. Apparently it has something to do with new regulations that are coming regarding pedestrian crash safety.

You will notice if you compare the specs of the 2nd gen Tacoma with the new 3rd gen Tacoma that all dimensions are the same pretty much except for one. That is because the frame is the same, and even the cab is pretty much the same. The one dimension that is different is the vehicle length, which is 4 inches longer, and it seems that this 4 inches is due to the huge front bumper sticking out 4 inches past where the old one did.

I disagree. I was taught to give/show respect unless person has shown they do not deserve it. I give/show respect to someone I just met... dont you? That being said, Kylenowad is acting like he does not deserve it.

 

I think your truck looks pretty sweet. The black is awesome and the small touches you added really set it off. I think the truck looks great in black, I just didn't want to keep another black truck clean.

 

Thanks for the nice words. I really like it. I've always had black vehicles, so I'm used to it. I came real close to ordering silver but knew I would regret it after I saw a black one.

 

Don't worry my friend, Im still one of the most disliked on here. If had post deleted, been locked out of a thread and called a racist. All because of souther heritage.

Good on you. Put whatever you want on there. I really like these on the 2nd gens. I was about to buy one for my '16 but decided i should go hunting for a pic on a 2016 before I bought one. Glad I did. It just doesn't look as good as it did on the old ones. Just my opinion. If I had one lying around from my old truck, like you, I would throw it on there. Guess I have to save up for a full bumper swap
