Under 2015 Tundra for now (4X0). I had to use 2014 yaris to get BBP to come up. Just to add, use the card supplied to test the paint on. Mine was a perfect match, but I can tell you I wasn't 100% convinced until the clear was on and it was back in the shroud. Seems like very good paint and sprays well.

Just don't panic if it doesn't look exact when it is apart and pre-clear. Light plays all kinds of tricks with this kind of paint.

btw. Inferno is going to look amazing if you do it!

Does the grill pop out of the shell easily?

There are two screws and two-reusable pop-out pins that hold the shroud in (all on top). The reusable pins come out by prying up the center with a small screwdriver which releases the pin. There are several wide tabs that hold it in the bottom. Once the screws and pins are removed, you kind of have to work the bottom shroud tabs out with a bit of wiggle/pulling. They are pretty durable and easy get out.

The outer trim ring is screwed on with about 8 screws and also has barbed tabs. Remove the screws, and it has about 5 or 6 tabs that have to pop out (they are a bit more chrome). The grill itself has several barbed tabs that need to be carefully popped out. Just be careful and use fingers rather than tools. They will want to snap back in until you get a couple started, then the rest come out with the help of gravity. I overbent one tab on the trim ring, but between the screws and other tabs, it literally didn't matter. I just bent the barb back for looks.

Edit: I will add this to the OP. Seems like good info.

I looked at the Automotive Touchup website - they show 8T0 (the code on the can in your photo) as Blazing Blue Metallic - not Blazing Blue Pearl.

I'm wondering what the difference is when you look up close - since BBP isn't really metallic. Can you post a tight shot where this paint and the stock paint meet side by side?

I think you did a great job! I was planning on just blacking out the mesh and leaving the bars chrome, but this has me re-thinking it.

8T0 is the code for Toyota BBP regardless of name. That is why they make codes, so you don't have to rely on somebody's interpretation. :) The top is the factory-painted shroud, and the lower band is the me-painted trim ring.

    4X0 - Inferno
    8T0 - Blazing Blue Pearl

Thanks. I have no exp with them as far as their paint, and won't give any opinion except for the stuff I used. The automotivetouchup.com worked very well for me and had a very nice even spray. I looked at a lot of reviews before deciding, and for some reason leaned that way, but it wasn't any particular thing that I recall.

    Thanks!

    Amazon:
    2 part clear coat
    Duplicolor adhesion promoter
extra fine scotchbrite pads (#0000 steel wool would work fine too)

    Lowes :
Denatured alcohol (I actually use this to refill my Braun shaver cleaner cartridges and it will safely remove debadge/sticker adhesive too.)
    Flat black and flat clear

I wouldn't be too concerned about the brands of most stuff except you want to make sure the clear is a 2k (2-part) if you want it to be extra durable and flash quickly. There are some highly rated 1-part clear coats as well, but I didn't want to cut any corners. Krylon fusion paint is designed for plastic, but they only had gloss when I was there or I would have gone that route for the black.

Again, I'm no expert, but have used a lot of different products over the years and take advantage of the interwebs/reviews for things I have limited experience with.

I hear you. I am amazed that something this simple makes me totally love the truck instead of feeling like "they did a great except for the front 12" of the truck". I don't even mind the Bubba Gump lip anymore. It's like the teen movies where the hot girl is buried under braces and some fugly glasses. I think it really illustrates how badly they missed the mark on such a simple thing.
