thanks for the recommendation, but i was trying to avoid a shop because I am sure they will be the most money, but I might have to go that route. Meridian in Butler is closer to me.
I was hoping someone might be a welder who might want to do it on the side for a little cash and beer!

I got my sliders welded together by a guy in leechburg named Brandon Rossi. He used to weld for a living and now he does fabrication and powdercoating. Look up Rossi custom products. He's a jeep guy but don't hold it against him, he does good work

There are a handful of legal places to wheel near Pittsburgh (within a couple of hours).

Southington Off Road Park near Warren, OH:
    http://www.southingtonoffroad.com/

    Wellsville trails near Wellsville, OH:
    http://www.wellsvilletrails.com/Html/The Village ohv Club.html

Powerline Park near St. Clairsville, OH:
    http://www.powerlinepark.com/

Rock Run out 22 past Edensburg, PA (requires a fire extinguisher):
    http://www.rockrunrecreation.com/

Outback Off Road Park on I80 out past Grove City, PA:
    http://www.outbackoffroadpark.com/home.html

I think you can pay to play with your own vehicle at Nemacolin Woodlands, but I'm not 100% sure. I know some of my Jeep friends have in the past. Not sure if it's a Jeep thing or what.

There used to be a place called Scrubgrass out 28 past Kittanning, but I think it's closed.

Great list, thanks! I've been to powerline, which is a little too crazy/party/dangerous for me on nice summer weekends.

I'm on the same page with you there. It's too much of a redneck field party.

I've never been to any of the others, but they look a little more family friendly based on the website photos, especially Outback and Rock Run.

Doe Valley is a great place to camp and wheel, family friendly atmosphere. It's ran by the club BigRubbers4x4. I think there's a charity run coming up soon if I remember correctly.

If you're interested in doing something soon, check out Big Rubbers 4x4 toys for tots event. The property is outside of Johnstown but it has stuff for stock trucks to buggys.

@M192 can probably give more info since he's going

I've heard good things about Doe Valley. Is it open to the public?

Yes but only during events. You have to be a member to wheel whenever you want. I'm really thinking about becoming a member because I support their cause and there trails. But I'm about 45-50 min away from there.

Their old VP had a crush on the jeepgirl I used to live with, so whenever we wanted to go she'd call him and we'd get in lol.
