Short video from our last test trip out to the desert for some testing with our 3rd Gen.

For the past 6 weeks we have been busy with bumper development and sliders. The bumper is not the production unit, it is prof of concept for our no body cut install fitment and our new independent winch mounting system. The production version will be out in about 4 weeks. Sliders are shipping now.

    Truck:
2016 Tacoma, 4D SB, TRD with tech. Toyota hooked us up with the Inferno Orange, as we usually end up painting/wrap our trucks orange, so very cool of them.

    Suspension:
Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell Pro. This is a fully rebuildable coilover system from Australia with matching oversized front and rear twin tube foam cell shocks with 20mm shafts. The rear is full leaf packs, center bearing drop, bushings and u bolts. Ride is amazing and lift is a full 50mm in the rear and fully adjustable in the front from stock to max the CV's can take. We set the front with 65mm. In the last testing with the bumper it came down due to the weight of the bumper and winch, as expected. We will adjust the ride height on the coilovers back up. Note: Nice thing also with Ironman 4x4 they offer 3 different spring rates for the front in addition to the adjustable coilovers. UCA's we went with the provin Total Chaos platform. Matt and Nicole build hands down the most innovative UCA on the market, backed by a company solely focused on IFS and they personally race what they build. TC just flat out builds great stuff.

Note: We will do a full separate post on Ironman 4x4 suspension on the 2016. (they have them in stock)

    Bumper:
Metal-tech 4x4 proto. This is a prof of concept for how we are going to do the no body cut and our independent winch mounting system. We used full 3D scanning of the truck and Solidworks (CAD) to create the fitment to the body. The new winch mounting system is independent so the winch can have the most rigid mount possible, why maintaining the front end collision properties the truck should have. The bumper is made to be as light weight yet performance driven as possible. The production version will be out end of November. We will be retaining the 20w LED's recessed and the integrated 30" single row LED light bar mounts.

    Sliders:
Outpost Off Road or OPOR, made by us, 2016 sliders. These as with other OPOR sliders, featured 45* ramped ends for obstacle engagement (both directions), two stage DOM rub rail to push the rear of the truck away, 0.125" thick dimple die step plate and rear dimple die kick fill plate. We actually have already shipped a few sets of 2016 sliders!

    Winch:
COMEUP WINCH 9.5 Seal Gen2 w/synthetic rope and wireless. This is a large frame winch with their full cone braking system that is just amazing at both pulling power and holding power. We have ran their winches on our FJC for the last few years and look forward to the performance of this new winch from them.

    Tires:
    285/70/17's BFG KM2 Mud TA's

    Rims:
These will be most likely changing to a Trail Ready or Walker Evans bead locks.

yeah I think this front is better/meatier than the toyotec for my purpose. the toyotec has no body to it, but i imagine that for offroading, where i need the protection for winter stuff (idiots sliding into the front, deer, sliding into snow banks).

The bumper on the truck right now is a prof of concept bumper, kind of like a proto-type. Its verifying our no body cut line up for the lines to the body and the internal independent winch system. The final production look of the bumper is smaller and with more approach angle. We are developing the new bumper using a 3D scan of the truck and CAD. (Solidworks) Due to this we can really control the weight quite a bit and are currently using 6 different thickness of metal and building it like an aircraft wing with a "skin and frame" design. By floating the winch independently we also control the hard points so the front end has as much of the impact prep. as possible. The production bumper will be ready in 4 weeks, at that time we will have the final weight and can provide further info on it. The proto bumper w/ the winch mount is 97lbs over stock w/o the hoop.

Bolt on and with all the necessary hardware.

Thats great news and I can't wait to see what the bumper looks like! I've been trying to find a pair of bolt on sliders for the 16 without any modifications! From the photos it looks like you could use them as a step if needed, is that true? My girlfriend is 5'1" and could use the help especially when bigger tires and lift goes on, at 6'3" I could care less about the step but it would be a nice feature for her. How much do the sliders weigh? Thanks in advance

it add to front of truck beyond stock bumper. Any additional pictures or video available would be helpful.

    Thank You!
