I'm following this. I've restored my headlights twice and I'm not doing it again. I'll be fully replacing all front lights soon.

I did the same, I'm pretty happy with it. I didn't get the alignment quite right when installing the "eyes" so I've got a bit of an angle issue on the sides but still worth it.

Norton, do you have any experience with Depo housings? Just wondering if there is any difference between the two?

I'm sorry, but, no I don't. They look VERY similar. Based on customer feedback listed, you'd probably do well with either option. FWIW, I remain happy with my TYCs.

Depos aren't bad as long as you use your stock hardware on them. The little clips and attachment hardware suck on the depos. Too much play!

Totally agree with your assessment of the Osrams - Great bulbs, for being reasonably priced halogens.

I got my LEDs from through another forum member who I think has since closed-up shop.

I'm biased, but I think you'll be happy with that combo.

I guess it's a good thing I didn't watch the videos before I installed mine. FWIW, I didn't find it all that difficult. As I recall, the biggest danger is breaking the plastic clips that help hold things in place. My best advice is to simply take your time.

I agree with above. I've used a restore kit on my stock housings. it helped but they are now starting to dull after 6 months. once the protective coating is gone they require regular maintenance. I saw someone used 3M clear protecting and it can be peeled and replaced.

    http://www.clearmask.com/about_our_kits.php

I hear the Depos get good reviews for their housings but as @Ckali7 said the little plastics may be sub-par :notsure:

I recently got VLEDs for the headlights. I need to take some pics but the lighting is not that much better than halogen. for distance anyway. they do illuminate reflective material better (reflectors/road signs/etc) and of course they are more daylight in color (I got the 5k). all-in-all they aren't bad but eventually I'll go HID when I save the money.

This mirrors my experience as well. I'd hoped for better than halogen, but they aren't quite there.

You're in good company, on both counts.
