Was looking for a good power source (using Add-A-Circuit) for my lighted glove box mod project. Noticed the 20 amp fuse in the 4WD fuse slot. Any ideas what it's powering? It was installed from the factory, truck is new.

its powering nothing if you dont have that feature. It seems odd but its a cost saving thing with a lot of manufactures to make the process easier by having the wiring and decals the same for all the models. vs having multiple harnesses and decals and ect ect

You have the SR5 trim level, so no rear diff lock, right? Your truck probably doesn't have the 4WD ECU so the 20A fuse shouldn't power anything. Pull out the fuse, fire up the truck, and see if you lose any functionality or get any warning lights. :)

Thanks zeekevin, I'm sure you're correct. I pulled the blank button plug in the 4WD position and there is a wiring harness attached to the back of the plug.

Yes, SR5 trim. I had considered pulling it and cranking it up....but I was skeert! Lol! My first NEW truck in 30 years, guess I'm a bit paranoid.

^As far as I can tell all US Tacoma trim levels 2009-2015 use the same junction box assy (which includes all the fuses on it), P/N 82730-04052.
