Since I know I'm not the only one that has had this happen on this forum today alone, and since the members here represent only a small percentage of owners, I thought this worthy enough to post as a possible problem. I noticed a vibration in my truck at 75 to 77 mph. I then noticed that one wheel had significantly more weight added to it to balance it than the others. I took it to the dealer and they rebalanced it but it required the same amount of weight if not more. We test drove it and the vibration was still there even though the balancer indicated everything was ok. I insisted that they replace the tire because there's obviously a defect if it requires that much weight to balance it. They refused to do so but said they would do a road force balance which is more accurate. During this process they determined that they could not bring the tire and balancing within tolerances, indicating that the tire was in fact defective or out of round. At this point they agreed to replace the tire. Keep in mind that the tires on the TRD off-road, Goodyear wranglers, have only been out a couple of months. If you have a TRD OR or have one coming make sure you check on this and if the dealer pushes back have them do a road force balance. It will reveal the defect as it applies pressure to the tire while on the balancer.

Checked mine today, The front right tire has a lot of weights on it but I drove 80 MPH and did not sense an issue. I am glad Toyota fixed it for you. I would have just bought a tire and avoid the hassle of the dealership. Toyota cannot solve the harmonic noise issue between 35-45 MPH That is a fix I am waiting for.

Keep an eye on it, my didn't show up until set 100 miles through a long road trip. Before that it wasn't there. I imagine all that weight swinging around took it's toll eventually.

Tire may be out of round. What I recommend is grab the Goodyear pamphlet in ure glovebox and call them. Complain and tell them about the vibration. They'll direct you to discount tire/americas tire co. For a inspection. If they can't balance it out then they can summit the info to Goodyear. They probably give you full or most credit for that tire to buy another one.:oldglory:

most goodyear tires are out of round. next time you see a bunch of goodyear tires look at the tread area, most will have rought spots instead of the shiny surface, this where goodyear buffed the tire to make it round.

One does not have to be rich to buy a $200 tire. The "rich" guys are replacing all four wheels and tires on a new vehicle.

Sometimes it's not worth the hassle and time at a dealership. I don't want to be "That guy" who is a pain in the dealer's ass....I'd rather hold their respect for when big things go wrong.

I will be paying a tire store to rotate and rebalance my tires to possibly eliminate a vibration noise I don't care for and help others in the forum with the same issue. If it works we will all have our answer and that is never a bad thing. Everyone who has the issue is contributing in some way to solve the issue. That's what These forums are for IMO.
I know for some it's just entertainment. They can have their sandbox as I am not playing.

You can buy certificates on any tire at discount/America's tire. They will balance and rotate as many times as you want before they wear out.

I go back tomorrow for the THIRD time to get it replaced. I was there Friday and they ordered the wrong tire, then they tried to claim it wouldn't be under warranty because my factory tires were aftermarket because it wasn't showing up on their computer. Had to walk the service manager to the lot and show him his own inventory to prove to him it was in fact the tire on the truck when delivered from the factory.
