    Hey! I'll be moving to Bullhead City in about a month for a new travel NP position at the local hospital out there. Would be nice to make some contacts out there before I go. Learn about the local trails, etc.

    Ha I need to expand the search area evidently! When I did a search for bullhead city I got nine total mentions of it. That made me slightly shudder. Seems like there's not really a whole lot going on there. Luckily I'll be there for a minimum of four months and if I hate it onto the next assignment I go.

    Yes the heat I hear is worse than Phoenix. I went to PHX in January (which sucked me in) for a conference then back again in August on my own dime. Had to see if I still liked it at 114 which I did. It's hot but hell Georgia is hot. Not 122/84% hot (fuck me with a bat that's hotter as 42 mother fuckers and apparently those are hot). I see I'm apparently going to be busy in the summer if I extend my contract there.

    Would really love to get down to the Phoenix area. Should be easier with an AZ license.

    Btw did you ever get the 2016 you were really wanting from that dealer? I temember reading that thread in the 3rd gen forum.

    Hi John. You should look into some of the hospitals in the Phx area for your next assignment after Bullhead City. Being a CCNP you shouldn't have much of a problem landing a good position down here.

    Yes I would really love to get to Phoenix. Really liked the Eastern part of the Valley the times I was there. I took this job to "get there first" to AZ and get a license (paid for by my company). Heres to hoping I can find a CCNP position there for a more permanent solution. :) AZ has amazingly wonderful laws governing my ability to practice so it's certainly an ideal place. I see all these meet ups and off roading threads and would really love to meet up and go along, it looks like it's a lot of fun driving around the desert!!!!

    Why not go ahead and do it now? I had folks in my graduate classes in their 50's!!! Never to old to do it!

    I actually did turn my notice in a few years ago at my current employer to pursue the degree however, within a week of doing so, my son decided he wanted to move back in with me. Was at zero debt and was going to move to another location to attend class but, that changed with his decision. At this point, it's a money issue and my ability make up what I would lose while in school.

    That is completely understandable. When I did undergrad I had to take out student loans to be able to do it (Auburn University) and then worked on weekend nights while going to grad school (UAB) and taking out loans again with that as well. You'll get there I have no doubt!

    Had you also been thinking of moving to Arizona, I see you're in an AZ thread?

    If the company you are working for is paying for you to get your license out here in AZ that's great! After that you're licensed here, your contract ends, and you have many options on where to go in the state. Within a 30-40 minute drive from the east valley you have 10+ hospitals (I'm sure there's more) that I can think of right off the top of my head right now.

    When I was in nursing school there was a lady in her 60s. It's never too late.

    Really!!! 10+ hospitals!! Shit!!! Feel free to give me a heads up lol. Any particular one you like? My speciality is Pulmonology/Critical Care as an NP been in that for 5 years now. Would continue in ICU or go to ER either way. Would love to find a nice sized location in Phoenix. Hell I was a good 30 min drive from my hospital here in ATL and it was only 5 miles away, our traffic is absolutely god awful.

    Ha......since AU sucks this year I'm just gonna behave when it comes to anything football or SEC related. :) I can completely understand the bouncing all over the place!! I've been doing it all day apparently when I should be packing up boxes for this move. I've been setting aside a pile o crap to put into the Taco for the drive out there.
