Can you get the angle grinder in there to grind the bolt down flush with the back of the track? Only other option I see is to keep dosing it with penetrating lube and hope you get lucky or drill it out and tap the hole for a new bolt.

I actually wanted the Echo more than the Husq when I got my blower, but I just couldn't get the Echo to sit comfortably on my back. I have an Echo string trimmer which has worked flawlessly for me.

I'm just joking about the old man comment because it's funny. Regardless of my jabs, I still bought one and have one on my truck and am glad I've got it. I can absolutely see how it will come in handy in the future, especially once I work out the kinks in the rear glass. Now I just need to get my AARP sticker in the mail!

I actually managed to pop the broken screw by clamping a set of Vise Grips on the broken stud and twisting it a bunch.

Happy Halloweenie !!!!! Just a heads up to you local guys. Next week or so ill be putting a set of used ICON CO's up FS in the other thread. The regular length version, not the extended length one's. They have approx. 50k New England miles. Still ride nice but replacing since I am doing everything else on the front end. Adjusted @ just under 3" of lift currently. New owner could run them as is or send them out for recondition/ rebuild. I don't have time for that since its my DD. I'm not looking to make money just what they may be worth. What is a fair used price for these ?

I have the Husqvarna 150BT which right now is on sale at Lowes for I think $249. I paid $299 for it in September. The reviews for it are largely positive with the only issue being that it is difficult to start the second season. I decided to purchase the Lowes service plan since it was dirt cheap and protected against that very issue.

There's a similar Echo at HD that doesn't have those negatives but no mattery how I tried setting the straps, it was terribly uncomfortable on. The Husq doesn't have that issue and I used it for well over an hour last weekend without any real fatigue.

You are welcome to swing by and check it out if you'd like. There are better ones out there (like the Stihl that was mentioned before) but you also pay more for them, so it's a fine balancing act, IMHO.

I officially became an old man today.

Leer 100R, $370. How could I not purchase it. The black isn't awful for what my truck is, and I can always color match it next summer. The only thing that stunk was removing my roll bar was a PITA. The bolts that hold it in were Allen head and screwed into the rail mounts for the track system. One Allen head stripped out and I couldn't get my reverse threading bits to work (actually broke one of the bits) so I took my angle grinder to the head to remove it. Now I have the screw shaft sticking out of the hole and it blocks getting the 4th cap mount to work. I will have to fix that at some point.

Any ideas on how to best tackle it. My suspicion is that the threads on the screw inside the body have some corrosion on them which is making it difficult to remove. The rail system is blocking some access to the shaft so I was thinking of clamping on my Vise Grips and trying to unscrew it and hope for the best. Thoughts?

EDIT: Removed the damaged bolt. Noticed the rear hatch is a little screwed up. Any one here know how to remove a rear window on a cap?

If you can, weld a nut onto the broken-off shaft and use that to back it out. Find one that fits tight, set it about halfway on, then fill in the rest with a weld puddle. It heats the bolt to practically red-hot at the same time, which will help break it free. I had to do that with two of the bed bolts on the 84 when I took it apart because they snapped when I was backing them out. Worked like a charm.
