I've had my share of shifting & so done with R&R transmissions for clutch jobs & all the BS parts associated with clutches, & autos are far less wear & tear than a manual on the drive train...

Wouldn't have bought a new one if they didn't have the mt,,, it is an amazing truck to drive,,, had an earlier year with the mt and this one blows it out of the water,,, I find the quote " nobody drives a stick anymore" very difficult to believe ,,, dealer received first load of 6 trucks,,, 4outta 6 were stick and he said they were all sold with more people waiting on more mts,,,thankfully mine was on the first load ,, my two cents

Don't forget that the Manual is $1500 cheaper than an auto. So, you only start loosing money on gas after the third year. Just sayin...

I learned to drive on a manual, every personal vehicle I've owned has been a manual, including the '10 Tacoma I had. I won't have it any other way. In fact, the dealership I ended up ordering from from was one of the few who wanted to deal with ordering me a MT O/R.While automatic transmissions have gotten a ton better since I started driving, I enjoy the actual driving experience and telling the vehicle what I want it to do, not just pointing it.

I drive a fucking slushbox POS cruiser for my work, no thank you for my personal vehicle.

Bonus... while my wife can drive a manual, she doesn't want to so my vehicle is relatively safe. :burnrubber:

This happened with the 3rd generation Subaru Legacy GT (turbo) wagon. It came with manual only in 2005 (at least in the U.S., in Canada it was available through 2008). I wanted to buy a 2006 but when I learnt the stick is gone had to scramble and buy a leftover 2005. Added another one used since than as a spare copy ;)

Given Toyota invested money in the redesigned manual it's unlikely they axe it right away, but I could see some trims going away. I was thinking about waiting for 2017, but I think I'll be buying a 2016 DCSB O/R MT soon.

Sport shifting is not real shifting.

Ok. Is that what they are? I'm no expert. My C6 Vette had the paddle shifters. I admit, I rarely used them.

They aren't the same as an automatic that shifts on its own like in the Tacoma is what I was getting at
