Is it at idle? Describe the noise better. You say a ping sound, does it sound like metal on metal? Is it consistent in a rhythm or kinda all over the place?

 

It just seemed like the thing to do at the time.

 

It does it at lower-ish RPMs, under load acceleration / going up hills, after the engine is warm, and seems to be less noticeable with 93 octane gas.

All videos I've watched of "pinging" sound like the same thing. A clacking noise under load.

 

My dad and I have had the tradition of collecting all the pumpkins we can after Halloween and shooting the hell out of them. Tis a good time. That's our version of carving them

 

Couldn't help myself. Had to do Chase from Paw Patrol too. Left eye got a little messed up. But still decent in the dark.

Well.... found some moisture in my LED spots. Had them on 6 months. I was curious to see how long it would take. Not bad considering all the rain/water they have been through.... (a coworker bought a 20" chinese bar after i got these, and his started getting moisture in it about 3 weeks after he got it). anyways, I'm going to take the lenses off, clean them, and reseal them. I've been meaning to do a performance and review thread.... looks like I'll finally get around to it.

That would be a whole lotta trimming to run in stock suspension.

Well, my battery took a shit. So I'm going to take my happy ass in to work early and replace it. I mentioned to kari that now would be a great time to do a dual battery setup.... i'm still trying to convince her of the benefit. It's not going well

 

Finally got my ome lift installed this weekend. Now just need to get an alignment and mount the new wheels/tires. Looks kinda goofy right now with the 245 stock tires.

 

You should at least be able to talk her into letting you upgrade to a better battery group. That's what I did as soon as mine died. 31-M FTMFW.

Didn't you take your lift off the other truck? Or do you want to keep it stock?

 

I have the lift from old truck just not sure yet whether to use it or try something different this time.

 

details? I was going to look into yellow top altima's.... gid kills the shit out of his and they still come back to life.

 

I'd would think a dual setup would be better, especially for reliability. Most have a standard batt for cranking and a deep cycle for accessories and winching. I think Gid can even jump start himself lol. Mine is just a high capacity marine deep cycle with crazy cc amps. Maybe not as bulletproof/expo as a dual setup but a nice alternative to all the additional wiring.
It runs lights goood.

 

Mine was awesome when I tried to winch you up the hill. With my old battery it would have died under the load it had on it... not any more and I've already killed it 3 or 4 times... got to love a deep cycle
