I tried Amex/TrueCar but they were priced higher than Costco which is where I ended up getting it. I bought my 2012 TRD sport with Costco in 2011 and it was a smooth process then as well. The dealer closest to me here in Miami area that was a Costco dealer is about 1 hour away but I got the truck @ invoice ($31200) with no dealer fee. Tax and tag extra. I think I got a good deal. Should get it by Thanksgiving.

I was just quoted about $1,700 over invoice on a Costco deal; which equates to $874 below sticker. Doesn't sound like much of a Costco deal to me

Going through USAA I was able to order my 2016 new (not dealer inventory on lot) for ~$1150 over invoice including all my options (fully loaded TRD Sport). I was something like $2000 under MSRP when it was all said and done. Even with USAA/TrueCar the price can and does vary from one dealership to the next. I even branched out to dealerships within a 2 hour drive using the USAA Car Buying Service and saw prices as high as $1300 over what I was given for the exact same truck at one of my local dealers. I could have saved ~$450 by driving to a dealership 45 minutes away, but they were unable to guarantee they could order my exact specs. One of my local dealers could guarantee it and with that and the fact they are 20 minutes away I felt this was worth the extra $400 so I placed my order with them. Even if the dealer 45 minutes from me could have gotten my exact truck it would have been a minimum of 2 or possibly 3 trips to them and any of the perks that come along with buying new like free oil changes, etc would have been more headache than they were worth given the distance.

It might be worth it to put in for a 2015 Tacoma, get matched with a more local dealer, and then see what they're willing to do on a 2016. They might drag their feet (I suspect my dealer is a bit) but eventually they'll sell you one on Costco pricing, because selling one on even that price is still better than not selling one on that price.

I was quoted thru the Costco auto dealer $50 below factory invoice price. All other dealers laughed at me and would not sell me the truck I wanted at the price I was quoted. Walked away feeling good about the Costco deal.
Currently waiting on my 2016 TRD sport 4x4 DCSB A/T w tow

Yes, I already tried that, and yes it was the same dealer that received my 2016 Tacoma request through Costco. The fact remains that none of my local (within 50 miles) dealers are participating in the Costco/TrueCar programs at this time, since they are selling all the TRD DC models right off the transporter for MSRP or greater. The dealers all said that if I was willing to wait several months, I could get the Tacoma at the Costco price. I opted not to wait since the truck in the exact configuration I wanted was being delivered this week. I should be picking it up in the next few days.

I had a similar experience. I showed it to 3 other dealers and was told:

    1. They don't really have the truck, they're probably lying. We can actually get you the truck.
    2. There's a catch, they're gonna have hidden fees. We have no hidden fees, we're an honest dealer.
    3. Wow, that's a great deal, honestly, just buy it there because they aren't gonna let me even come close to that price.

Closest I could get from any of them was exactly $1,000 higher than the Costco price with free lifetime oil changes (would take 15 years to recoup the difference not counting interest)

When my wife is due for a new car we're absolutely going through Costco again and to the same dealership I got my Taco. Great experience and great price

I put my deposit down on Friday and should hear back tomorrow as far as a time frame. But the taxes and fees are the same as any other dealer. Will keep you posted. But the price was almost $1500 better than any true car price. But I had similar responses from other dealers.

I contacted Costco (again) just recently and they told me that my local participating Costco dealer will NOT be including the '16 Tacoma in their inventory of vehicles available for Costco pricing...

Picked up mine last week. Hate haggling with the sales folks so used Costco. Price offered is half way between invoice and MSRP. Use that for ordering what I wanted. No complaints. Items like the extended warranty go for 1/2 of the typical retail price per finance guy. Smiled and signed the papers. Happy camper!

Just an FYi---for anyone in the DMV area, compare your prices to Fitzmall auto sales. Their prices include the freight. My inlaws just bought a Limited Highlander from Ourisman Chantilly using the Fitz price and saved A TON!

No deals at this time on the Tacoma, but keep an eye out.
