    What is the difference between 882 and 886? I realize that it's spring rate but beyond that I don't know. Thanks

    First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
    I looked at both these springs when shopping out my OME setup some years back. They are certainly very similar. As I recall it seemed more folks had the 2886 setup and seemed to like it. Many found the ride harsh with the 2882.

    Each spring is uniquely engineered and tested for a particular vehicle and setup/application.

    I did notice the 2882 specifically recommends only pairing it to an OME nitro-charger shock. The 2886 has no such stipulation, and I know many folks have used those with the Bilstein 5100s.

    882 has a 500# rate, while the 883 - 885, and 887 have a 590# rate - spring length being the difference for amount of lift. 886 has 660# rate, as noted from file linked above.

    I don't think I've ever heard of anyone putting 882s on our trucks.

    All of the new springs are supposed to be. 886 is for full armor plus winch - and some guys still say they're too stiff, others love 'em. If you like 'em stiff :boink: 886 might be for you :D

    All the mods
    Use the 886s if you are running alot of extra weight up front (bumper/winch). The 886 should keep you from losing some of your lift compared to the other OME springs. However, if you run an 886 without having a winch and aftermarket bumper, then the ride is probably going to be super stiff.

    886 coils will support more weight on the front end, like a plate bumper, winch, and skids, but will be very stiff and unforgiving without said weight.

    All OME springs are now "sag resistant."

    Well if you go OME in the front, why not Dakars 8 leaf pack with OME shocks in rear.

    I went with 885s and Bilstein 5100's. Great buy from Headstrong Offroad, and great ride! I do not have an aftermarket bumper or winch.
