Hey is there an pully conversion you can do on the 4.0 05+ to get better MPG and possibly some more HP?

LOL, I hear ya...I would like some hard numbers too. At half the weight, its has to have some effect on the performance. If it was also undersized. I could see me buying the thing right now. I'm hoping to investigate this one a little further with some of the people who buy it.

Let me know what you find out. Depending on the facts and what tcBob, Banshee, themaster, and lsocoee think; I may consider asking them to do a group buy with us...

We don't have any rules against them. I just like covering all the bases. I don't want to step on anyone's toes. ;)

im in on a group buy if it happens. can this pulley harm the engine in the long run since its half the weight?? this sounds so tempting but not to familiar with crank pulleys

the pulley sounds like a great idea. being light weight, it should free up some ponies. i dont think it would harm anything in the long run either, it shouldnt anyway.

Sorry - I haven't been keeping up on this. Didn't really see too much interest in it from other members.

If my memory serves me right. I know that there were a couple of members ordering and going to install. I'm just worried about the weight "needing" to be there for the counterbalance effect. I understand how it frees up HP and probably leads to better MPG, I had one on a 91 Mustang 5.0 back in the day. But if I recall, that one was smaller but weighted the same..

You can set pulleys that are the same size but lighter or smaller and lighter or just smaller.

Less rotating mass = more free ponies. I'd be surprized if you had any issues regarding counterbalance.
