I think the Skatepark part was the weird one. I think you meant state parks though.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he wants to stealthily go from the cab to the bed at Yosemite, not that he wants to creepily watch kids at skate parks.

Oh okay. How often do people camp out at skateparks? Legitimately curious because I've never heard of that.

My buddy has an SUV and built a platform he can sleep in with the seats down. I think that's more your speed. The best car for that is a Ford Flex. They have a fridge built in, all the seats fold down so you can easily sleep.

I wouldn't necessarily be camping at the skate parks. I would be skating, then leaving and going elsewhere to sleep, hence the need for stealth...

Ford flex is that really square one? I don't think I would buy a ford, if I did maybe a transit connect or transit...

transit connect ftw. if i needed a van-type vehicle, that's what i'd get. lots of great configurations.

A Transit RV with the 3.2L diesel would be a truly awesome travel coach to tour the country. But you're talking six figures.

my mom had the exact same one in 1995. same color. SC, LE, AWD. middle row and 3rd row fold flat and together to form a giant bed. best road trip/camper ever.

^^ Previa? Nice... but I need something new, for reliability, I'm not mechanical and don't want to worry about anything...

The thing the Tacoma has over the Sienna is that I could access more remote spots...

YES. Don't forget the Previa is also technically mid-engine haha #racecar.

Honestly, it sounds like a 4runner would suit you perfectly. Get a used one. Very reliable (basically a tacoma SUV), and you can always find a good deal on one because there are so many of them out there.

i had my tacoma for 6 years and bought and sold 3 different caps for it during my time owning it. i now have the 4runner, and find it much more convenient for day to day life/storage.

only downside is i cant throw my motorcycle in the bed anymore. if you don't carry anything huge, and plan on keeping the cap on year round, i would go 4runner right off the bat.

The slider windows in the back window have shrunk on recent trucks. I could crawl through the window on my '78 Toyota and '81 F250 but no way can I fit through the Tacoma's window. I haven't gotten bigger the widows are smaller. Recent F150s the window looks too small to crawl through too.

yeah, i think it's a security thing. you used to be able to just pry those things open and crawl in if you forgot your keys back in the day

I'm still a little confused on the stealth thing. What would happen if you got out of the car?
