Assuming this comes with instructions on how to apply? How difficult is it to get the letters straight?

How about a matte dark gray for those of us who want less contrast than black? Thanks!

I don't want any. I was just posting and answering the mans question. I would take my truck to a sign painter if I felt the urge to add color on my tail gate.

Detailed instructions are in the listing as well as shipped with the decals. Using the "wet" method you can position the decals perfectly in the stamped letters before they adhere to the truck. We supply one extra letter in case you make a mistake. If you don't feel comfortable installing them yourself I'm sure your local window tint/graphics shop can do if for a nominal fee.

What color goes good on MGM besides black? White? Some kind of light gray like Manny say would be great.

I'm a vinyl guy myself. I'd suggest making an how-to-install video to clear some things up about the wet application. I guarantee most of these guys have never installed a vinyl decal wet and will be blowing you up because they screwed up the install. There can be a lot of room for error when it comes to an install. You're not supplying transfer tape are you? Buyers just have to pick them off the backing paper and spray 'em down and apply? You did a great job on the lettering, they look very clean!

Thanks Stickycal. I agree, I should have made a video during my install, but they are already installed and I don't want to remove them to make a video. This was the first time I have worked with vinyl and did not have any problems during the install. I did find this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjqoqRhi5WU which is very similar. The matte black 951 vinyl is much thinner than the chrome decals in the video, but the application process is much the same. For all that purchased these please remember that water is your friend! Keep the application area AND the adhesive side of the vinyl wet and you should have no issues. The extra letter that I provide is basically for you to try the install yourself. If you are not comfortable with the process then I would suggest that you take your Tacoma to your local window tint/graphics shop for the installation.

I have chrome, however my sign consultant doesn't recommend it on vehicles since it only has a 1-2 year durability rating. I can certainly make a chrome set if you are still interested.

Yes. I cleaned up my eBay listing so it is easier to read the installation steps now. Just be patient. The vinyl is very thin. Keep it wet to prevent it from sticking to itself after you remove it from the paper backing. I found another video that may help:

That might extend it a bit longer, but not much. You could always buy several sets knowing that you would be replacing them every few years :)

Actually, what about red and white alternating? Anyone think this would work for Captain Ameritruck?

The other thing I was considering is a red/white or white/red overlay, shadowed...
    upload_2015-11-2_15-25-35.jpg

I think the white over red pops better.
