Yeah... I already tried sealing it up with silicone and it worked perfectly fine for 2 months then i went and washed it the exact same way ive done it every other week and it happened again this past time haha... Im planning on throwing in a projector if i have the money so that will give me a chance to seal it right if i do it :(

Not today (been away bird hunting up in northern Maine), but last Wed (10/28) I had a bad tread puncture (knock on wood as it was my first in 20+ years up there....so I guess the odds were in my favor as flats are quite common) on a forest road that was just recently graded, and I was driving slow based on experience. Fortunately I had a repair kit and a compressor in my gear tote/box in the bed. I saw the tire pressure light come on and pulled off to the side of the road, I heard a hiss and found the culprit. Tire went completely flat in about 30 seconds after I removed the triangle shaped rock.

Re-inflating after plugging the best I could with plenty of rubber cement and 2 plugs to fit the triangle shaped hole:
Finished field repair....I still lost a little air (5lbs/day), but it got me through the remainder of the week:

I'm getting a proper & permanent patch/plug installed today and I'll be reimbursed for the repair cost from Tread Depot.

That wasn't just ANY rock though. That was "The Rock"...

No tire survives an encounter with The Rock!

I know huh....but it was very sharp (pic may not really show that) and hit the tread in just the right position between the treads! I was only running 30. I typically run 34, but air down just a little, but not too much as many of the roads are hard packed gravel.

    Welcome to the Rock!!

Better pic - that top section is what did the tire in (I kept it in the event I needed it for a possible tire replacement)[IMG]

Installed a set of Firestone Air bags yesterday. Super easy to install and will be great while towing!

As it is still 85 and sunny as hell here, I mounted a beer opener in the bed and had a Guinness.

Yeah I know. I've actually been in the car wash and detail business for the last 12 years.
When I do my car's engine I use 303, but my truck sees a lot of dusty terrain and won't stay clean for long so I didn't bother.

ordered a BAK G2 for $685 from CarID.com and updated the mod/upgrade list. Fun/Crazy to see how much $$$$ I have put into the truck in less than a year!

It's been a busy year for you! I'd be interested to hear how you like the retro tail lights when you do them. They look pretty slick.

Oh man. This makes me so jealous. If my mod spreadsheet looked like that I could buy a whole other Tacoma.

Nice. Are you going paint the volume button too?

I'd like to figure out how to keep the backlighting before I paint it. Maybe I can buy the part in black.

Steering wheel looks way better in black! I wonder if the volume control can be sourced black through Toyota... I agree that it would be near impossible to paint that and retain the back lighting.
